So plan to make a Reaver Warrior as my main character and aim for a DPS build.

Think of this I'm wondering how everyone else will handle their Reavers so what will you aim for when you play as a Warrior Reaver?

Tank style (use of Reaver HP steal skill to keep HP up with a mix of Guard boost skills with full aggro grabbing)

or

DPS style (Full use of Reaver HP sacrifice and HP steal for more damage with a moderate use of Guard and aggro.)

DPS style for sure. I am coupling most of the Reaver tree with Most of the 2H tree and an even spread of Vanguard and Battlemaster. Only investing in Vanguard to get the 2 passives that buff the Strength stat, as well as to get Charging Bull.

If I were to play a tank, I would go Champion class. Its just made for a pure tank. I plan to build Blackwall as such to counter my full offensive Quizzy.

Tanking? Eew.

No, only blood. Buckets and buckets of sweet, sweet blood.

I'm thinking on higher difficulties you might have to take a few Guard skills from Vanguard, especially if you really wanna play on the edge (10% or lower HP).

Also if 2H dps ends up being not a big difference from 1H, Shield and Sword might be optimal too for Reaver.  I really hope the 2H base damage is just loads higher than 1H this time around.

Wanting to focus on tanking and being a reaver almost feels like saying you want to be an archer, and then you put your points into the dual dagger and assassin tree. It does not make much sense.

A reavers job is dps and life-stealing. Not that you can't make it work though, but you'll end up being more of an off-tank. At least this is my view on what a reaver is.
