Hello everyone,

I hope this is the right forum. If not, I apologize.

So to give you a quick summary of my situation ; I'm French. I live in Russia. I want to play the game in English.

I bought it on Origins a couple of weeks ago. When the pre-load was enabled I was told I could install the game either in Polish or Russian. Um, thanks, not interested. I contacted Bioware support to ask how to fix this. They were very nice but they told me they couldn't help - Origins is region locked. Gee, great, now I'm stuck with a game I can't play (playing it in Russian would definitely ruin the experience, and I don't speak Polish).

Then I connected to the Dragon age Keep. I picked English on the main page but as soon as I logged in I was put on the French version of the website. Once again - not interested. Sorry, but the French translations are awful.

So my question is, why ? Why is it so hard to let me pick whatever language I like ? Steam does it, so obviously there is no legal or technical limitation that makes it impossible. Why would Bioware care whether I play the game in Russian, French, English or even Swahili ? This is absurd. I can't be the only one in this situation, right ?

If there's a reason for this, please share it with me because I don't understand. And if there's no reason then please fix it.

Thanks.

You'll have Russian Ui and Subs, however people will be uploading the subs and ui files . Blame EA.

As for the keep, might have picked up your system language (you can change the keep language) as for the translation. Quebecy french?

Nope, just average normal French from France who loves the English language ;)

I'll take another look at the Keep. This wouldn't be an issue except I'm not sure it's even compatible with a russian version of the game. What a mess.

I had the same concerns. Derek French said that game will be available in english for everyone. "All installed versions of Dragon Age: Inquisition will include English text, as well as your regional language. Language selection will be available in some manner within the game". I hope this is true. And you cant get more legit info than this.

Oh, really ? Thanks ! That's awesome news if it's true (though it should be true for all languages and not only english, but I'll be happy with just english).

Edit - when he says "english text", does that mean we get the english dubs too ? Cause no one else can do Alistair like the english voice actor.

Thanks, this is a relief. Though there's something wrong with the store if they can't be bothered to include English as a default install language. Still, I'll wait until the actual release to test this and find out whether I can jump for joy just yet.

Thanks a lot for the link !
