I kept hitting Kai Leng with Overload in our last fight on Cronos and nothing would happen. Does he have some form of the Phantom's bubble? He doesn't seem to turn invisible like Phantoms do.

I know when I use overload his shield goes down and it doesn't effect him while he's recharging.

 

I know he has to do his aargh 3 times before he can be killed. I was only able to get his shields almost all the way down before he had to do his charge crap thing and then after the third time, I used whatever to kill him. I did notice one thing though, that while he's recharging the third time, if a grenade is thrown it will stop him from recharging and be killed quicker. I noticed it the most when playing as an adept using the cluster grenade.

There are fixed amounts of damage he needs to take to go to recharge. While he's recharging and while he goes to recharge he's immune to powers and weapons. 

You can notice it clearly at the first time, he needs to have half his shields gone to go to recharge.

 

Also, noticed that he's still alive, even after stab?

Well, I know that in between segments of the fight, when he is down to one bar of shield you can't do anything about that last bar. (Which is why, if you watch, you see I just let him run around a bit during the fight waiting for him to call in the next group of minions.) But after the third group of minions came in I tried hitting him a few times, with Overload, Liara's Warp, etc. and nothing seemed to happen. Not until there was only one minion left did he start to take damage.

Maybe it was a dialogue delay? Make sure he gets in his last line of dialogue before you can kill him?

He stops charging after you kill one minion. Something similar should be the case for other recharges as well

I noticed I couldn't really hurt him until he broke the floor three times. After that, the fight was over pretty quickly.

Almost everything is effective on him I killed him with my trusty Avenger

My favorite tactic is running up and pistol whip him continuously. It adds a ton of comedic flair to all his fights. Ironically, his AI is so bugged that Shepard can actually get away with this and totally own Sephiroth at his own weapon specialization.

I remember throwing him around the room for 20 minutes and he. just. wouldn't. go. down. I thought maybe lash had broken the game again, but finally realized it was just that Leng hadn't broken the floor for the third time yet. It was glorious. My favorite Kai Leng slaughter, however, was hitting him point-blank with a handful of cluster grenades as he charged at me. ka-BOOM! I giggled looking down at the crumpled heap he had become. I've tried to duplicate it since, but could never get the timing of the grenade toss just right.

Just hide his toothbrush
