Read and enjoy the glory. Then join us in joyously embracing the cause of a strong Empire and racial harmony.

Not seeing what your talking about. Care to PM me.

Edit: Nevermind, I found it.

Mages aren't slaves in Tevinter.

You have no idea how Tevinter work didn't you? Just ask Fenris he's an expert.

Lolpe, did you expect much from Bioware when it comes to a well written story? With all of the new spoilers, DA:I’s ‘plot’ seems to be just the backdrop to interact with our companions, and they put more time into that than writing a better plot or have better choices. xD

Though I think one of the devs said a while ago though that you will have multiple ways to end the mage/Templar dilemma so here’s hoping there’s a rational third or fourth option that isn’t stupid.

Not going to lie though, I’ve always sided with Templars over Mages and I won’t break that tradition if it comes to that. ;P

I know but I hoped damnit. I hoped! You'd think with the year extension we could get some non stupid antagonists for a damn change.

Same. If I can get the more moderate of both groups and kill all the extremist morons I'll be content. Even if I end up with a much smaller force.

I tend to side with the mages really. Until hurr durr bloodmagic anyway. That said I get where the templars are coming from and disagree strongly with the mages should be free mindset. Templars should have to answer for their behavior towards mages to another power. Preferably a neutral one to make sure neither group is stepping out of line.

I tell you what this combined with Orlais means I'll enjoy the game no matter how goofy or weak the main plot gets.

With all of the new spoilers and seeing how DA2 and ME3 have fared, DA:I’s ‘plot’ seems to be just the backdrop to interact with our companions. They probably put more thought into writing an interactive romance rather than writing a better plot or have better choices. xD

From what I've seen, the multiple ways to end the war only applies if you side with the mages.

*looks at Fenris sister*

I'm sorry what?

Anyone weak enough can be a slave in Tevinter. Mage or no.

from the wiki: "Having been emancipated from slavery, Varania would be a member of Tevinter's 'Liberati' social class"

Plus they would surely have gotten guarantees about their status with Tevinter if they allied with them.

I think it's funny to call something a Mary-Sue, like everyone else doesn't have a head canon where their character was the best and greatest of all time and did things no one else could because reasons.

Seriously someone who is on the mary-sue bandwagon post your character story that doesn't have to do with you saving the world, being magical, having any unique abilities and everything else that makes someone a mary-sue. I bet you can't because no story about "That boy/girl who wasn't special and died in the first 5 mins" would be considered interesting.

It sounds like something more is going on w/ the mages as the Fiona double thingy in Val Royeaux seems highly suspicious. There's probably something up w/ templar leadership too but the Lord Seeker could just be very stupid. I hope its the latter for him.  :D

After becoming Danarius' apprentice. She was still enslaved for quite some time before hand. So again, mages can be slaves in Tevinter.

I think at this point, her absolute stupidity makes her not mary-sue.

After Fenris fought for her freedom and asked for it as a boon. That's why he became Danarius' experiment, to free his family.

She wouldn't have been free otherwise.

Apparently the pictures I posted happen if you side with the mages, not the templars. Interesting.

...the level of hate towards Fiona is quite staggering.  Yeah, she isn't my favourite character in the books - but that isn't saying much since the books have a lot of issues.

And really, she isn't the first 'elf Mary-Sue' from the books (though I wouldn't call Fiona a mary sue) - look at Katriel for that.  Ugh, she was awful.

To be honest, I can see why Fiona goes tot the Magisters.  It is stupid, but it is kinda like the Geth going to the Reapers in ME3.

I'm pretty sure people will call her a mary sue and an idiot at the same time. Haters will be haters.

That said, as much as I was excited to finally see Fiona, I have a strong urge to slap her now.

The main difference being that it is a War Fiona pushed for, the war she wanted.

Tevinter's society is where the strong prevail and the weak suffer even if you're a mage, if you are weak enough you're nothing but a slave and minion to the superior mages.

Authors pet is more fitting. Too stupid to be a legitimate Sue anymore.

Ya it the whole Quarian vs Geth all over again....

One side say you must be Controlled or die while the other side ends up backed into a cornor and forced to join a Evil being.

In the end there isn't anything good in each outcome.
