Soes, Mass Effect is an RPG. I like RPG's. I like story, I like character. ME3SP has story and character, but lacks sufficient combat. (For me at any rate)
ME3MP has combat, but it lacks a lot of character, and has virtually no story.
I, on occasion, add some of both. Lazy Sunday watching Archer, smoking a bowl; thought I'd share.
First,
The Asari.
When the assault on Thessia began, reports spread across the galactic network. A group of Asari Maidens and Matrons operating in Earth Alliance controlled space decided they needed to offer their services. Before the Asari Councillor had even issued the blanket statement to offer aid.
These Asari had been gathering intelligence on the human's war efforts. Their intimate understanding of they Crucible efforts, occupation of Earth, and Admiral Hackett's valiant efforts led them to believe it was in their best interests to help; both for Thessia and Earth.
Since that time they have coordinated deployment with Hackett's strike forces. Unable to give their true identities or names yet valued by their human allies the Asari have been given epithets by the military clerks creating their file. These epithets, in part, reflect the nature and personality of the Asari in the first-hand reports by the men and women operating with them.

The Drell
Three Drell were ordered to specialize themselves against relative newcomers to galactic warfare and politics that could influence the Hanar government, against Humans. Trained for intelligence gathering and combat against Earth Alliance they have spent their lives devoted to learning and understanding human nature.
Throughout his life the Drell assassin Thane has made allies and friends. The three Drell had requested contact with Thane early on, learning as much as he would tell about his time spent on a human-controlled advanced warship. These three owed him favours. The kind of favours you pay back. One of his last messages sent from Huerta Memorial was to these three calling them in to help those they had trained to kill.
Using their knowledge of human history and culture they took aliases for themselves. These were based on historic weather patterns which gave rise to great storms and hurricanes.

The Geth
After Shepard-Commander restored True Consensus across the Geth Collective and reunited the Makers with their prodigy, galaxy-wide military support was implemented.
One particular group of platforms sent to the Crucible were asked for their assistance by a nervous yet determined logistics officer of the Third Fleet. Falling through a clerical crack these platforms agreed to be deployed with long range strike forces, despite their initial inefficient orders to be used at the Crucible. These programs were advanced assault platforms designed for operation against immediate enemy forces. They seemed almost, happy, when the timid officer mustered up the courage and asked for their "signature".
These platforms were given access to Earth historical records amongst a deluge of other information as a gesture of good will. These geth became fascinated by the beginning of mankind's internet. Knowing nervousness detracted from human-efficiency the programs decided to colour and name their platforms in such a way to minimize negative human emotion. They chose a product that had proven successful viral marketing. Their choice was, alternative to say the least. It was however, successful. Their further interactions with humans elicited positive emotions.

The Krogan
The story of these Krogan is a long, involved...HEADBUTT ...nevermind. They don't like to share.

N7's
The best, brightest, toughest, fastest, sharpest, and in some cases most brutal of the Canadian Armed Forces were chosen to participate in the Interplanetary Combatives Training in Brazil.
Taking designations from their home country they have led the fight wherever they are sent. They are quick to make allies of aliens, aiding above and beyond their mandate.

Turians, Quarians, Volus, Vorcha, and Batarians up next. Might also make the generic Earth Alliance Forces, and eventually get all the Auxiliaries under one roof too. That's all for now.
