Anyone find they are leaning to something they had not originally thought they would play as on their first run?

I was originally going with an elf mage. But over time I have grown attached to the idea of a human rogue. It seems that mages get all the love in these forums (good and bad). Rogues just seem so lonely.
Actually, I can't resist the lure of dual wielding. So until mages can dual wield staves, I will have to start with a rogue. And I have switched to human until I can see if I can get those dang huge elf ears to actually be reasonably small. I can't stand giant ears.

I think the elf ears will bemanageable
I will probably go 2 handed qunari in another play through as a reaver (want to look similar to the arishok)
Elf knight enchanter
Human rogue, maybe assassin
Dwarf doesn't appeal to me though

Originally i was going to do human champion just to get feel for the game, then i changed it to Qunari champion, now im set on Qunari Reaver.
It fits the 2handed class best and is lore friendly since it plays into the theory that qunari are related to dragons

DA:O my 1st playthrough was a human male warrior sword and board.
DA2 my 1st playthrough was warrior sword and board Hawke Diplomatic
See a pattern here? I love that milquetoast
This time around, I'm alternating between a Qunari Male Warrior Sword and Board or Archer (Archer cuz of Bull and how many Qunari warriors do we need?)
Or a female Elf Mage
That's cuz of the setting and what's at stake for this Dragon Age, I'm thinking very seriously about going non-human.
Still haven't decided nearly 24 hours out. But at least I've narrowed?

My "Main" Warden is a sword and board warrior.
My "Main" Hawke is an archer rogue.
My "Main" Inquisitor will be KE mage.

My playthrough has, and remains to be a male 2H Qunari Reaver. Nor will it change between now and tomorrow night. But my succesive playthroughs have gone through some changes. Probably play a female Human dual wielding Rogue next named and modelled after Emilia Clarkes character Daenerys Targaryen in GoT. Then a male Dwarven S&S Templar. Then a Qunari Mage. Havent decided on gender or between KE or Necro for that playthrough. Other playthroughs, if I get to them are less known to me.

First playthrough for Origins and 2 I went rogue. But I LOVED being a two handed BA in origins on a second playthrough. Race will either be Human or Elf. Qunari will be my second playthrough.
But as to class, I don't know. Rogue or two handed? Maybe a mage? I don't know.....

My DAO Warden was a City Elf Rogue
My Hawke was a Mage who sided with the mages
To round things out, I was going to make my Inquisitor a warrior. But I'm too tempted to see how mages are treated in the world state I've created, so I'm starting off with a Knight Enchanter.

Since I was forced to be human in DA2 I won't be doing that- I like to play fantastical races in my RPGs.
I originally wanted to play a qunari mage, everyone would be too afraid to mess with me.
Then I said nah, the dwarf warden was so much fun that I'll play a dwarf.
But then I changed my mind again- I think I'll be an elf mage- despised and looked down upon, chosen to lead the inquisition. Should be interesting.

Yes. I was originally planning on playing a female elven mage. Now switched to human.

Starting off with a Dalish rogue to go with my canon DAO (Dalish rogue) and DA2 (diplomatic rogue) characters - no spoilers and no metagaming for my canon runs. I usually end up with some interesting choices that way.
After that I'm not sure. Have a Dalish mage planned for Cullen, but the voice actors for Iron Bull and Josie are so much fun I might have to run my Dwarf rogue for IB and my Qunari warrior for Josie earlier. I'm afraid Dorian may have to wait a bit for my human mage, but I'm still so tempted to run my human warrior for Cass as an earlier play through. TOO MANY CHOICES. At this rate I won't have my planned playthroughs finished before DA4 comes out. That is a good problem to have. ![]()

Class still completely undecided.
Just when I think I've determined a class, I discover something neat with another class and it's back to the drawing board again.

DAO: elf mage female.
DA2: mage, sarcastic.
So I usually lean towards mage. But in Skyrim, my recent playthrough has me rethinking that a little. Currently in Skyrim, I'm playing a wood elf archer. At least in Skyrim, I've gained a bit of an affinity for archery. So now I'm debating whether to play an archer or mage. Decisions, decisions.

I never had my class/race set so its not changed but...
I am humming and hawing over two classes mage or rogue and two races human and elf.
Elf for the 25% ranged defence great for archer/mage duels as my party tank deals with the melee mobs.
Human because in the past the best story arcs seem to have been Human. I also suspect some content with be race gated like becoming king or Queen was in origins. And I suspect I will like the human gated content over the Dwarf, Elf or Qunari.
I would prefer to play a rogue but i think a mage better suits the party make up I want. I think storywise the rogue might be more enjoyable to me over the mage, but that is pure speculation.
I plan to play each class even warrior once through the prologue so I can make an informed choice vs guessing. I'll let game play be the final factor to tip the balance.

Was gonna go for a male qunari mage, but since the body they gave him is so massive, I might change my mind on that and go female qunari. Might even go for a human male rogue, but I'll need some time to see if dual daggers is any good or if the rogue is too squishy for the closer type combat I like.

I went through the class choice struggle not too long ago. I was leaning towards playing a mage, and I almost fell over to the dark mage's side. But I went back to my trusty warrior, because that is what I enjoy playing the most.

I used to be completely set on a female qunari mage but then I got to pondering; I don't know how many playthroughs I'll manage before I get tired of this game (the horror!), and I might end up unconsciously attaching each voice to a single race, which means that I have at least/only four playthroughs to plan for, two for each gender. So, in order to play each race with a unique voice, I could go fQunari, mElf, fHuman and mDwarf.
That plan was set in stone months ago. Long story short, I ended up wanting to play a female elf after seeing some preview footage of one. Okay, no biggie; I'll just swap all the genders around but no! I definitely want my femQunari! So now, I'm basically stuck trying to decide which to play first; female elf or qunari, and which one should be the rogue and which one should be the mage.
For some reason, I haven't even considered playing a warrior until maybe my third or fourth run ![]()

I've been switching between a bunch of races and classes these past few months.
But now I am fairly sure I have settled on female elf mage - necromancer. My Warden's an archer rogue and my Hawke's a mage, so I guess I'll just deal with the double mages. Necromancer looks like too much fun.

I've always been a Mage built as a Healer -- but since the world of Thedas hates Healers now and won't let Mages cast a Heal spell I guess I'll have to role-play as a 'Barrierer'.
Yep, just made that up...Barrierer doesn't roll off the tongue like Healer, but there ya go.
If I can piece together enough support spells to go with the 'Resurgence' ability I might be able to drag my companions across the finish-line after all.
