For me, Micromanaging 100% destroys the game and totally detracts from the game play and the whole point to combat. I'm also not sure why people think there are things you can do micromanaging that you cannot do using the tactics menu. The tactics menu allows so much more control over combat.

So the combat system requires the tactics menu to be played correctly..Those that micromange don't get this and will say there is no way to play correctly, so there is no getting through to them.

Tactics are general rules around responses.  So you can customise the way your AI will behave while not under direct control.

Tactical Camera (Micro managing), allows specific movement and ability timing coordination (e.g. Move here to high ground, move there to hold check point).

I can see use cases for both.

Do you have stockholm syndrome or something? I asked a yes it will, or no it won't question. Will it have the tactics menu?

Not what you thought about what I said.

Yes.  The game will have a tactics menu.

But I'll forewarn you... DAI's tactics menu is nothing like DAO or DA2's... It's so different, in fact, that you might claim that DAI doesn't have a tactics menu at all...

Using the tactics menu to setup the AI is also controlling them...which is a perfectly valid playstyle.

Yes there is a tactics menu.. but its only for when to drink potions and what ability to prioritise the most (even telling them not to use a certain ability on their own) and thats it... however the Ai is smarter in inquisition.. rogues will try to get behind an enemy archers will try to keep distance instead of standing there and they will use combos if they are available.. and the tank will automatically attempt to taunt enemies attacking other party members.. so it shouldnt really be needed as much IMO.

Real players who understand the game know exactly what I'm talking about. Anyone aguring against this is a lost cause and is clueless.

All I needed to know is if it had a tactics menu.

And I didn't say micromanging wasn't a WAY to play, but it's not how the game was designed for combat use.

There's a huge thread about this in Feedbacks forum, if you want to talk to people who are gonna be more receptive.

Tactics are there, barely, so if you play on Nightmare you will probably be doing a lot of micromanaging. On the easier difficulties, you can prob just play as your main character. (According to streams I've seen)

I don't care if people are receptive or not, nor what they think, I asked a yes or no question, and people throwing their opinions around, has nothing to do with my question nor do I care what they choose to do when they play.

Are you talking about 'if-->then' statements like the first two games had? I'm pretty sure they aren't there, or are very tapered down to just a few situations. This is from a thread from a couple of weeks ago - note I haven't actually played it.

O...kay? I just meant there are a lot of people there who share your concerns/playing style, so they will be able to answer your question more in depth and speak to your specific concerns. They also have spent time doing a much deeper analysis of it that you might find interesting.

As for your question, I answered it. Tactics are there, but very limited in scope.  However, if you play on lower difficulties, you will be able to just control your main character and have the companion AI do the rest with little trouble. Micromanaging will only be necessary, it seems, on higher difficulties. To what extent is still unknown.
