may i ask why changing to "saved merin/iwan" wants me to set nathalien dead in awakening? did i lost something? how are those 2 things related?

may i ask why changing to "saved merin/iwan" wants me to set nathalien dead in awakening? did i lost something? how are those 2 things related?
Both quests -- ["Fool's Gold" to save Merin/Iwan] and ["Finding Nathaniel" to rescue Nathaniel] -- are mutually-exclusive. That is, you cannot acquire both quests in the same world state. You can only get "Finding Nathaniel" if Nathaniel survives the events of DA:A. You can only get "Fool's Gold" if he does not survive the events of DA:A.

To add to this, Awakening was bugged, so sometimes it would mark Nathaniel dead when the player believed he was still alive. So you might have gotten Fool's Gold in a save where you thought Nathaniel was alive, when he really wasn't.

Hmm so i have some importing problems from awakening cause he survived but i had the mission finding nathaniel, well i'll try to fix it with some gibbed work

He will be flagged as "dead" unless he was with you when you fought The Mother.
