Since Tempest has talked about them a lot, I figured I should actually introduce the Circle that Tempest belongs to. (In case anyone is not aware, they're a group of mages who have chosen communal living, but are not actually a Chantry-sanctioned Circle.) I've been working for awhile on getting this together, and it should give you an idea of who everyone is.
Tempest is considered a Senior Enchanter in the Circle, although their hierarchy is quite loose. The adults take turns teaching the kids whatever their particular areas of knowledge are.
The Adults
Alvia, First Enchanter
Age: 35
Race: Elf
Class: Mage
Alvia is short of stature, even by elven standards, but is full of personality. She is brave, opinionated, never afraid to speak her mind, and smart enough that people generally don't mind. She and Tempest are close friends.
Emric, Alvia's Partner
Age: 34
Race: Human
Class: Warrior
Emric is one of the non-mage members of the Circle, and joined because his wife founded the group. Emric tends to be rather quiet with a dry sense of humor, and to strangers sometimes comes off as cold and unapproachable, but he is more relaxed with his friends and is highly loyal to the Circle.
Grantham, Senior Enchanter
Age: 55
Race: Human
Class: Mage
Grantham was a highly Chantry-loyal mage until he and two of his students, Royce and Lissa, were accused of practicing forbidden magic and had to flee for their lives. Grantham is serious and studious with a strong sense of duty, but with a sense of humor that shines through from time to time.
Lissa
Age: 19
Race: Human
Class: Mage
Lissa was not long past her Harrowing when her life was disrupted. She is still adjusting to a life that is very different than the one she expected. She is an intelligent, passionate young woman who is trying to decide what her future may hold.
Royce
Age: 23
Race: Human
Class: Mage
Royce takes him very seriously, and is rather full of himself. He has a good heart, though, and a genuine desire to do the right thing. He tends toward being impulsive but is clever enough to get himself out of most of the binds he finds himself in.
Tobias
Age: ?/Elderly
Race: Human
Class: Mage
The Circle doesn't really know a lot about Tobias, because by the time they stumbled upon him he was already heavily affected by dementia. He has been unable to communicate about his past or even much about his preferences, but he seems content spending his days mainly just dozing by the fire or sitting in the sun.
Brynn
Age: 18
Race: Elf
Class: Undecided/Student
Brynn is not a mage, and had no connection to mages, until one day she was accosted by a group of drunken templar recruits who mistook her for a prostitute and, when she refused to provide those services, beat her to a pulp and left her to die. The Circle found her and nursed her back to health. She decided she liked living with them and didn't want to leave. Brynn is catching up on her education, and is proving highly intelligent and eager to learn. She's quite a sweet young lady. She is determined to be a Circle lifer, in spite of possessing no magic.
The Children
Cara
Age 14
Tempest's oldest and her only biological child, and not a mage. Cara is opinionated, rather bossy, very caring, and determined to make something of herself and to grow up to be a protector of the Circle. Cara looks like a miniature version of her mother with the exception of a slightly rounder face and straight hair.
Annice
Age 13
Tempest's middle daughter, and a mage. She is shy, sincere, and brave. Annice has no hands due to an attack by the villagers in her original hometown when she began showing magical talent, however she has adjusted to her disability and is able to do most things. She loves to write stories, both true and fictional. Annice has red hair and a very freckled face.
Trina
Age 12
Trina was rescued from Ser Boniface after he adopted her for the purpose of abuse. She is still coming out of her shell, and doesn't say much. She knows Tempest's family is willing to adopt her if she decides that's what she wants, but she doesn't feel ready for another try at parents yet. She is not a mage. Trina has black hair cut short, blue eyes, and a slight build.
Minnow
Age 6
Tempest's youngest child, a mage. He was found wandering in the woods, initially refusing to speak and unable to control his magic. His control over his magic has improved a great deal, and now he talks all the time! He loves nugs, dragons, and playing outside. Minnow is a tow-headed blond, tall for his age but slender.
Amira
Infant
Alvia and Emric's daughter. She is, of course, an elf-blooded child. She is generally a happy, easygoing baby. It's not yet clear whether she will be a mage.
