I was wondering will MP data cross the streams from PS3-PS4 and Xbox 360-XboxOne, basically staying in console family units like Destiny? I only ask because I am starting DAI on PS3 and wonder if I will need to restart the MP when I make next-gen leap

No. Bioware had said no cross-platform and no cross-generation for MP.

I believe you will not have to restart your progress since it's tied to your PSN account (iirc), but you won't be able to play with the PS3 community from the PS4.
Could be wrong, though.

I think that was a question that was answered on the Twitch from the 12th. The answer was no I believe.
