I hate when things like this happen to me in game.. -_- But, have you tried to restart your computer, thats the very basic thing I do when it happens.

Granted I am connecting via vpn before my countries release date but I am also experiencing the black screen glitch. My computer is above the recommended requirements. It just gets to the save message and just sits there but doesn't crash the game or freeze my computer. It's also listed as working fine in process hacker. This doesn't make me feel good about the rest of my DA:I experience

Did you guys get some sort of Early Access or something?  I'm looking at my Origin library and it says that I can't play the game until 10pm tonight (almost exactly 11 hours from now and I'm in the US.)  The game is pre-loaded, but the icon is greyed out.

VPN is answer you are looking for.

Anyway copy pasting from another thread.

I have a problem of game freezing after bioware logo and autosave screen at start. After autosave screen it starts music for few secs and then it just stops. I can move my mouse around but it is just black screen. Now mine computer is a problem most likely being really old( E8400, hd 7770 gpu) but I thought i could play it on low like assassin's creed unity ( and that game is unoptimized ****).
Still some hope left to see if there are others experiencing same problem so its not just my computer. Also playing from vpn.

Also I noticed it uses 95-100% cpu when it freezes.

Was there a day-one patch? Keep in mind that there are no new graphics drivers yet and the game isn't technically out in most places.

There is supposed to be a Day One patch to fix a few bugs.

 Maybe it's not out yet.

The Day One patch would have been included in South Korea's release. Also, I see there already is a Patch included in the install:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\Update\Patch

But maybe there is one coming for North America. :(

I'm worried this is a problem for dual-core CPU's because most people reporting the problem are running dual-cores. There's a reason the minimum requirements are a quad-core CPU. :( :(

Never mind - mine is due to corrupted graphics drivers . Reinstalling fixed for me. That being said op your AMD is a dual core. DA:I might be hard coded to reject dual cores on pc. If this is the issue I'm not sure anyone will get support. One of the devs seemed to suggest a dual core could run it but it may no longer be possible. I hope this gets resolved. Your RPG experience shouldn't get spoiled by this (hopefully). Maybe someone from Bioware might be able to help?

I found this quote from bioware personel.

To clarify a statement made in this thread:

The game will NOT run on a dual core machine. The machine referenced above is actually 2 CPUs each with 2 cores (thus Quad core)

A dual core machine will not run the game.

So no love for us poor bastards. Though I don't see why my e8400 3.6ghz(overclock) cpu couldn't at least play on lowity low.

I guess game is gonna stay unplayed for a long time by me. Well, whatever.

Aaah I see. The original post by the employee said Xeon 5150 which is a dual core so either he was mistaken or ithis changed in development. My friend will have to wait until next year to play

Can't speak to the potential problem of the OP regarding quad cores.

But I was having a similar freezing issue.

I ran the repair utility (r-click on the game in Origins, select 'Repair Game') and it seems fine now.
