I have a question... can anyone run Lords of the Fallen or FIFA 15 on dual-core CPUs? Both of those games require a minimum of a quad-core processor and use this Denuvo DRM.
There's something wrong in DAI PC

Google search it.
Here you go: http://ark.intel.com...z-1066-MHz-FSB
It doesn't look like you do if you have the base model...But that's all I can tell you from my side. Maybe bring your computer into tech support.
Siddarth gave me the Status of my Processor. Well... Do you Recomend any new processor for me to buy? Maybe one with that technology or maybe even a quad core. Dunno. Wich is better now? ![]()

It does not actually "freeze" my system.. it just doesn't launch the game. I can still move the mouse pointer around on the black screen.
ADDED - Origin says I've played the game for an hour..
I left my system on the black screen when I went to bed last night hoping that it was a realllllllllllly long first load or something. Game says I have played 7 hours and I have only seen Black.

You have a Core 2 Duo processor, so the compatible upgrades would be a Quad Core processor...Let me Google this real quick... your motherboard must support the LGA775 socket if it can fit the C2D E7400, so you would need to upgrade to any one of these Quad Core processors:
http://www.amazon.co...ga 775 quad,aps
As long as the CPU fits with the LGA775 socket, it should be good to go.
If you want to get a new processor like the i5's, you would have to dump your motherboard and get a compatible motherboard for the i5. You would also have to worry about the RAM being compatible with the motherboard, so I would just upgrade to a quad core.
Minimum CPU requirement for DAI on Intel is quad core @ 2.0 GHZ, so you would want a CPU above that speed. You're lucky...your upgrades are CHEAP.

Hi guys,
Thank you all for the quick replies with your DxDiag reports.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like all of you are on dual core CPUs. Dragon Age: Inquisition requires a quad-core CPU.
If you ordered a digital copy of the game on Origin and you absolutely won't have a chance to play the game on a computer that meets the minimum requirements, you can request a refund (granted that you are eligible) here: http://help.ea.com/en/refund/
Cheers,
Nils

OK, now I'm worried with all this talk about the game being unable to run on certain machines. I have an "Intel® Core i7-4770 CPU @3.40GHz" is that OK to play the game?
Thats the same processor as mine. It has zero issues on ultra. Now i have no idea what graphics card you have but judging by your processor you might have similar to mine.
I7-4770k CPU @ 3.40ghz
16gig DDR3 1600mhz ram
2 x nVidia GTX 770 msi Twinfrozr gaming cards
Now the above I built nearly a year ago, then it was cutting edge. Have no idea what it rates now but it runs this game on ultra quite easily. I am excited to download the new driver that supports SLI as i had to force it yesturday as I had no idea it was out already
.
So if anyone has a medium/high rig having issues it most likely is driver/software related.

To anyone experiencing the pre-title screen black screen issue who is sure they have a quad core (or better) CPU, make sure that the Windows Control Panel is showing the correct CPU.
I recently installed a quad core (replacing a dual core) and experienced this issue because Windows did not detect the CPU change and update the appropriate drivers. If you are experiencing this issue, this will explain how to remedy it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/930861

Ok, there is this issue involving dual core CPUs and so on. But I have a quad-core, AMD A10. And I also have a decent GPU, HD8970 2GB.
But I can't play the game whatsover!

I have a 660ti & Intel i7 3770k and during the actual gameplay/combat it runs smooth on all high, but during cutscenes/dialogue it gets a lot of hiccups, so I had to turn it down to medium, which saddens me, but I do plan to get a new GPU when the Witcher 3 comes out. Probably will wait a few months after.
I do believe my setup should be okay for high settings, but oh well.

It is just you 660ti mate. You can get a 770gtx quite cheap now and it runs the game on ultra quite easily.

I think this is not a processor issue. This game needs an optimization, instead of this they give us ****ty DRM that eats resources.

I don't know, but they opened another thread because they "solved" the first one???? Solved by saying anyone with dual-core can't play. I'm going to upgrade my CPU for Christmas..then I'll buy the game on disc.

It's not JUST a dual core issue. If people with quad cores who not only meet but exceed the bare minimum requirements were not having this issue, it would be a dual core issue. There are people with dual cores playing just fine. There are people with quad cores playing just fine. There are people with quad cores who are having the exact same issue as the dual core people. While dual core may be a piece of the problem is not the entire problem and NIls quoted above is a tech support guy who stopped posting on the issue hours ago. I imagine when they figured out this was a problem they couldn't solve (with no nod at ALL to the people with quad core machines having this problem). The tech support guys can NOT fix this issue for anybody, it's going to have to come from the actual developers.
What is the most bothersome is the fact there's been zero acknowledgment of this issue. When you remove the dual core customers completely from the equation there is still very clearly a problem.

No, just get a quad core processor compatible with the LGA 775 socket, like the Amazon link I sent you. It will be the easiest that way.

Good to know this works. My quad core CPU is coming in this week, and I just hope that I won't get the black screen bug or I will throw my desktop out the window. To anyone experiencing the pre-title screen black screen issue who is sure they have a quad core (or better) CPU, make sure that the Windows Control Panel is showing the correct CPU.

When you have people running multiple systems and configurations, it doesn't take overnight to fix the problem. And it hasn't been 24 hours since the game's NA release. It's not JUST a dual core issue. For console gaming, there is one system with updateable firmware, so it's easier for developers to narrow down a bug and patch it.
For PC gaming, it is much more complex and probably why PC gamers experience more problems than console gamers do. I wouldn't say it's necessarily the developers fault. It's just that there are way more factors involved when getting a game to 100% work with everyone's systems. Which is why they provide minimum requirements to at least get the game running and playing.
They also have to work with Intel for Intel machines, AMD for AMD CPU's and GPU's and Mantle, EA for Frostbite, Nvidia for Nvidia cards, Microsoft for Windows frameworks and DirectX, etc. It's a friggin headache.
I know how annoying it is for web developers to get everything displayed correctly and the same way on everyone's multiple browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, multiple mobile browsers, many different versions, etc.). (Which is why there are frameworks to standardized common things.) So I cannot imagine the headache it must be for game developers to patch PC crap.
Now some BW community managers on Twitter say that developers are looking into some problems experienced by players, so hopefully that should get the ball rolling.

Enabling dual core support is not something that can be accomplished with a patch. Parallel programming algorithms are buried too deeply in a program's software architecture.
