Does anyone know when the crashes or bad lag start happening? I just want to look out for it. I've got all my settings down to low. Which gives me shiny hair, and a few dark spots emphasizes why low is definitely lousier than high. Not that it isn't obvious. Beggars can't be choosers though.

So far it's decently smooth, and the game is still pretty, but I'm just starting out.

Importantly, the game wouldn't run at first. It loads up to a black screen, then crashes to the desktop. After installing the latest drivers, then the game ran fine.

My specs:

Intel Core i5-3230m - 2.60ghz

8.00 GB ram

Nvidia Geforce GT 720m

Windows 8

Edit: A little update. Apparently my computer could run this at higher settings than I initially thought. So I had mesh set to "high". The rest of the settings at "default medium", only with "shadows" turned to low, and "ambient occlusion" to off, while "effects" at low.

We'll see tomorrow, but I am assuming that my Hexacore Intel X99 Haswell-E mounted with DDR4 RAM and GTX 980 can run it on ultra no problems. If someone have these components it would be much appreciated if you let me know how the game performs.

So far no issues for me and my PC.  60+ FPS ide say 95% of the time ....lowest ive seen is mid 50s........and of course 30 during cutscenes.  No CTD yet.

- Intel Core i5-4670K Haswell Quad-Core 3.4GHz
- MSI Gaming N770 TF 2GD5/OC G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 770 2GB
- MSI Z87-G45 Gaming LGA 1150 Intel Z87 Motherboard
- 16gb DDR3
- 1920x1080 res

In Game first set to ULTRA then:

-disabled AA

Then In NVIDIA control panel set DSR to 2x.

FX-6300 @ 4.6Ghz

R9 280 @ 1080Mhz

8 gigs of ram @ 1600Mhz

Sandisk 64 gig SSD

Windows 8.1 64 bit

1920x1080

Game is loaded onto an SSD by itself, closed MSI afterburner, Riva, Raptr, FRAPS, Origin overlay and anything else that could interfere. adjusted graphical settings between meium and high (ill update later with what setting is where) but im getting 60fps while playing (using the in game fps counter). no crashes, no bugs, all new drivers. solid game, quickly becoming my favorite game of 2014.

i7-3930k 4.2 GHz

16 GB RAM

2x GTX 980 OC'd to 1493 MHz core, 7500 MHz mem

344.75 drivers

On 2560x1440, maximum settings (4xMSAA) I get >60 fps most of the time, with occasional dips into the 50s, and one dip into the 30s during a cutscene (note that I'm using the framerate fix so my cutscenes are capped at 62 fps, not 30) that probably had something to do with closeups on some fire effects. If anyone is curious about SLI scaling with 2 cards it is great - anywhere from 85% to almost 100% depending on the scenario.

I have noticed some bugs however. I get some texture/terrain flickering from time to time. It may be caused by SLI, but I haven't tested it to be sure. What is more annoying, though, is that every 15 seconds or so like clockwork, I get a momentary stutter. It's relatively minor in terms of impact on framerate but just enough to be noticeable and if it happens during a cutscene while somebody is speaking it causes an audio glitch. It happens whether SLI is enabled or disabled.

It's also worth noting that Nvidia had this to say in their latest driver release announcement:

Please note, Ubisoft and BioWare are working on updates to Far Cry 4 and Dragon Age: Inquisition, respectively, to resolve multi-GPU and single-GPU game issues that can occur on any graphics card.

They didn't give an ETA on when that update might be released unfortunately.

Ehhh...runs pretty ok, honestly. Getting 30-45 on the benchmark with no problems in gameplay.

Most stuff on Ultra, except for post processing and no MSAA.

Aside from crashes related to my display adapter failing >.> which it doesn't do in other titles...and the occasional directx death, (it's all updated + the C++ stuff in the redist folders) it's fine.

Kind of surprised that a lot of the jumps from High -> Ultra don't seem to impact FPS too much, if at all.

- i5-2500k OC'd to 4.4 GHz
- EVGA GTX 760 SC ACX OC'd to 1121/3144

- 8 GB DDR3 Ripjaws

- MSI P67 Mobo

- 1920x1080

So here is all my stuff from the DxDiag, I have constant problems with crashing. My computer meets the min requirements and most of the recommended requirements so I guess I'm confused what the problem is.

So here is all my stuff from the DxDiag, I have constant problems with crashing. My computer meets the min requirements and most of the recommended requirements so I guess I'm confused what the problem is.

Do you just use Intel Graphics, or is there another switchable graphics card that you didn't post up? Intel graphics, is mildly put, pretty terrible for gaming. Although the fact that you could run it, shows that the game isn't too bad! ^_^

So according to these charts I should be able to run the game just fine but it's very choppy and sometimes slow. Also the cut scenes are terrible.

GPU: GeForce GTX 460M
Intel Core i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00 GHz (but has built in overclocking)
8.00 GB RAM
Windows 7

I was able to run shadow of mordor on default settings perfectly and smoothly

460m really isn't very great. What settings are you running it on?

I'm running everything on the lowest possible setting and still shitty FPS. super choppy. Shoul dI lower my screen resolution or something? I also have the nivdia drivers, and am running it off of gamebooster.

Could this be on NVIDIA's end? Lots of people with the low FPS problem are using NVIDIA graphics cards

Funny thing is, that DA:I on Ultra/High mix with Tasselation on medium and no AA runs BETTER than DA2 did on max settings for me.

Let that sink in for a minute.

My friends laptop has a NVIDIA and he can run everything on Medium with no fps problems at all. I think I should be able to run DAI on low with no fps issues if I was able to run shadow of mordor on medium with 0 issues

Hmm okay, have you tried yourself? I'd like to hear from your experience as well.

Its strange that a Laptop can out perform my rig, or any of our rigs. When will an EA rep visit our little corner of our forums?

Yeah I posted earlier. My rig

GPU: GeForce GTX 460M

Intel Core i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00 GHz (but has built in overclocking)
8.00 GB RAM
Windows 7

And I have everything on low and still shitty FPS

Oh sorry, didn't realize that was you.

So by your estimates, your computer is better than your friend's laptop but it has worse FPS?

I have

i5 2500k

8 gb ram

GTX 780 Poseidon

I was getting 55-60 fps the entire prologue, then when i hit haven it dropped to 30 and i get 35 in hinterlands.

I feel like all the people claiming they get 60 fps locked in this game either didnt bother playing more than 45 minutes, or are just flat out lying.

My computer is supposedly guaranteed to run this game on ultra, but i get 40 fps in haven on medium.

IDK if my computer is just broken, or maybe this game runs like ****.

I think that Haven is the most intensive part of the Game (So far). Therefore accounting for your FPS drop.

Now this shouldn't be happening since the game should theoretically tested so that the FPS is consistent.

I tried contacting support all day yesturday, the technicians couldn't come up with a solution. But here is some of what I tried:

Obviously after you fiddle with the graphics settings like turning off SSAO, etc. AS WELL AS closing all non-essential background programs

1. Control + r for run program. Type in msconfig. Under selective start up, uncheck Load Startup items then go to Services tab and check the 'Hide all microsoft services. Then Click disable all, apply and Okay. It will ask you to restart and go ahead and do that. Boot up the game and see if it works better.

2. Reinstall game, retry game.

3. Try playing the game under another User with Administrator rights.

4. Clear out Browser cache from beginning of time and retry the game.

5.  Defragment your drive using Piriform Defraggler, then retry game.

None of these steps helped me but they could for you. Plus any technician is going to try and troubleshoot the problem by going through some of these with you anyway.

i'm 6 hours in...

make sure you do not have any programs running in the background, no FRAPS, no Raptr, MSI afterburner, Riva Tuner, any kind of video recording or monitoring applications. go into Origin's settings and turn off the overlay. play with your settings more in game, after tweaking your settings quit the game entirely and restart it. also turning down the terrain, vegetation and water to medium or low helps quite a bit as well.

#1 I'm not an idiot so i did all that.

I have an i5 2500k and a 780 GTX, i'm not turning down settings to get the same FPS others with 660 ti's are getting.

This game is unoptimized as hell and Bioware needs to fix it.

The GEFORCE recommended settings for me for this game are literally completely maxed with MSAA X2 and i get 25 fps in Hinterlands with those settings.

Calm down, I'm not questioning your intelligence, just like you were not calling me a liar for stating it works fine for me.

I had to turn down my settings to get 60fps, everyone's system is different and a developer cannot take into account every specific application that is running on every single machine.

According to Bioware's recommended settings i should be able to run on Ultra/High but i cannot, so i agree there needs to be better optimization.

Please do not call people liars because you refuse to adjust your settings to get playable performance. I do have faith that Bioware will come out and release either a patch or at least address the poor performance some people are getting.

i7 4770K @4.1 GHZ

780 GTX SLI

16GB ram

Windows 8.1 64 bit

1440p monitor

Maxed out settings except following

2X MSAA

Post processing anti-alliasing off

Post effects to high

I'm getting around 50 - 60 fps and the game runs really smooth.

there are little bit of stuttering here and there as other people reported but it doesn't bother me much.

The game is open world with exceptional graphics so it will need to load a lot continuously  (main memory to graphics card and disc to main memory) and I guess that causes little bit of stuttering. I think more memory on the graphics card would help that.

Lowering texture quality to high from ultra removes the stuttering almost completely for me and it does make sense due to the bigger size of ultra quality textures.

However I'm stick with the ultra texture setting because the game really shines with that.

The game looks stunning.

I haven't played AC: Unity yet but DA:I is the best looking game ever for me.

Given feedback, it looks like Bioware should do a better job on not top end spec machines with better scaled graphics options though.
