I play on the high preset with effects down to medium and no AA. My system is a Radeon R9 270X and a Phenom II x4 965BE 3.4 Ghz.

With Mantle, framerates are smooth most of the time with some stuttering. Cutscenes are capped at 30fps, which is jarring when you come from 60fps gameplay.

I don't know the exact framerate settings because I haven't found out how to display the fps in Mantle. The benchmark is less than helpful. It's a super fast forward video that ends after five seconds and then you hear all sound effects all at once.

How did you get mantle enabled its greyed out on mine. iam using a R9 290

Updated the OP with some handy graphs.

Well, looking at the graphs a 480 is on green and the 295 has actually better frame rates than that. However this when SLI works. If it doesn't then I'm in red.

Updated the OP with some handy graphs.

Yeah that's an interesting graph. My card 660ti is best for "High" but my processor the I5 3570k is best for "Ultra." Going to have to try and see if I can get a mix of both. Might try turning off the MSAA but I must have ultra textures. Going to be interesting getting the best fit for this.

They seem to have changed the graph slightly.

In particular I notice the 5770 has been switched from yellow to red :(

That 1080p though... I'll have to extrapolate for 1600p performance, which should be okay. (original i7-965 @ 3.6ghz, GTX 780 Ti, 16GB memory)

Planning to upgrade for Witcher 3 next year, so any performance issues now will eventually be dealt with.

They have indeed. Thanks for the heads-up!

Press "Tilde" / "Grave" / "~" will bring up the console.

Type: PerfOverlay.DrawFps 1

This will bring up the FPS on the top right corner of your screen.

You can even type PerfOverlay.DrawGraph 1, PerfOverlay.DrawCPUGraph/GPUGraph

** There is auto complete when you type these commands so I may not remember their exact spelling. They are case sensitive if you type them by hand.

- For 900 series nVidia cards, I am 99% sure it is the driver because I get the same stutters playing some older/other games as well. These game use to run smoothly until I upgraded my graphics card. >.<

Thanks tons for that, would never have found it otherwise. Looks like my cpu (phenom ii) & gpu (gtx 660) are both light green which is high settings... much better than i was expecting. Going to preorder now :)

Everything dark green apart from the GPU. Which is now yellow if you look at the updated graph.

well according to the graph, my system is marked best for Ultra. Hopefully I don't have too many problems when my game gets here.

Do a clean install of your Radeon drivers. That might help.

Errr... Dont run MSIAfterburner OSD. It would seem that the micro stuttering I have been experiencing is due to that.

I switch it off and the stutter went away.

I'm running this on "high" despite being able to run BF4 on "Ultra" with 80+ FPS. Result:

Stutters like hell even in the first moment with the inquisitor on the ground with nothing else on the scene. Does not let me select Mantle as API.

Very, very disappointing.

EDIT: stuttering apparently is caused because it tries to force 30FPS in cutscenes... but can't maintain it. Jeez.

Running mine on Low and its beautiful and working fine...except for the barbieland horrorshow that is the hair. Any ideas what settings I should mess with to try to make that look better? I don't care about details I just don't want it so shiny

Try upping mesh quality (high should be enough).

Also - can you post you PC specs? :)

80-50 FPS on Ultra+2xMSAA (R9 290 on Mantle). There's a lot of microstutter though.

Thanks for this thread, OP.

With all the recent posts about people suffering problems, I've been wondering how my lowly GTX 660 was going to handle the game.  Seems like I'm good for medium to high settings, assuming the above information is accurate.  I suppose one good thing about being in the UK - Nvidia may have drivers available before the game even releases over here.

Getting decent fps on Ultra but those loading times are something awful.

I have GTX 670 so looks like I'll be running it on high ^^ Too bad b/c my other specs would allow me to run on ultra. But I'm sure high will look great.

Incredible. With my GTX 295 I can run the game on HIgh with decent frame rates (about 45 average). Well, it seems like my old trusted GPU is still doing its figure ;)

(However I created a SLI profile using Nvidia Inspector using Battlefield 4 as template. I don't know if that's why it runs this well).

Yes, Nvidia are very good when it comes to releasing drivers on time. I wouldn't be surprised if we got new drivers within the next 12 hours (especially when you consider that Far Cry 4 is also out on the same day).

Day one patch supposedly will address this, but I would not get my hopes too high - Frostbite 3 is notorious for having long loading times.
