- For 900 series nVidia cards, I am 99% sure it is the driver because I get the same stutters playing some older/other games as well. These game use to run smoothly until I upgraded my graphics card. >.<

Also don't forget with the older Dragon Age games, the newer drivers have been causing video glitching which is fixed by reverting back to an older driver. That might be the cause of the older games performing badly as well. I had this and thought it was all the mods I was running, turns out reverting to older drivers fixed it.

Constant crashes. Waiting for an NVIDIA driver update. I can only play between 10-15 minutes at a time before my screen turns black, then I get an error message telling me my graphics driver has stopped working.

NVIDIA GTX 660 (version 344.65, updated 11/10/14)

Intel Core i5 @ 3.30GHz

8 GB ram

playing on a mix of medium to high, alias off.

Does anyone have a similar setup as me and able to tell me how they run the game?

my specs are as follows: AMD fx8350 4.0ghz (non overclocked)

                                        gigabyte windforce r9 290

                                        16gb ram avexir 2133

Assuming the game runs similar to batttlefield 4 as it uses the same exact engine. I should be able to play the game with maxed everything with mantle turned on. Since this is a whole different kind of game than bf4, I'm really curious. I live in australia, so the game doesn't come out till the 20th. Does anyone have a similar setup and can give me an idea of how they can run it? If the game's engine runs similar as bf4, the command "perfoverlay.drawfps 1" should allow you to view your frame rates without any stupid program like fraps, of course without the quotation marks. "gametime.maxvariablefps X" (X represents the number of frame rates you would like to cap the game at) this allows you to cap the game at a specific frame rate without using settings like vsync. I have not tried bf4 without mantle so im not sure how it would run with directx.

Turn down your graphics.

Would you mind being a little more specific? I can definitely crank everything to low, but I'd rather figure out what the specific issue is. IE anti-aliasing, too many shadows, etc.

2. CPU

VpUlMHU.png

I'm extremely uneducated about stuff like this but I'm the in middle of upgrading my PC and was recommended i5 4690k. I don't see this on the chart above, so where does it fall? Higher the number the better is it?

I assume it should be ok as it will be paired with dual 970s and was told the CPU works fine with that. (monitor is 1440p if that makes a diff)

Would really appreciate some confirmation about the CPU cos I'm getting slightly worried given the numerous complaints regarding CPU hogging by the game.

Sounds like your GPU may be overheating.

The graphics card is brand new and just installed last week. My case is clean too

Okay so I used a VPN to run the In-Game benchmark on one of my PCs.

Athlon X4 860K @4GHz

Radeon HD 7850 1GB @1030/1100 Core and 1370 Mem

8GB DDR3 1333/1600MHz RAM

At first I ran the benchmark with the 14.9 Drivers on all Low settings and got 32 FPS AVG and 28 FPS MIN.  With 14.11.2 Drivers I got ~76 FPS AVG and ~57 FPS MIN.  I'm guessing that is without Mantle mode enabled as I didn't enable it from DX11 yet.  The problem is now the game halts and freezes when the CPU usage gets close to 100%.  I'm going to wait until the official release and see if the crashes disappear or maybe a Day One patch.

It may just be a faulty card, or maybe a bad driver install. I'm not very good at GPU troubleshooting. I'd wait for Nvidia to release optimized drivers just to make sure though.

So far running at a steady 60 on my GTX 970 (not unexpected) on high, will try ultra soon. That 30 fps cap on cut-scenes though...

A bit off topic, but gameplay on the pc is...awkward to say the least. Will take a while to get used to.

Was the benchmark supposed to go by in fast forward with no sound?

I had the GTX 660, before I recently switched to 970. One thing I remember with the 660 is that I have never had a card that loved to cause so many crashes, or just resets of the Nvidia drivers. The drivers getting reset was a normal thing for me. It stopped when I switched to the 970, and when I used older drivers, 314 and older (more than a year old and that would most likely not work in DA:I).

Hmm... game is locking up on me after maybe 30 seconds. I can get into menus for a few seconds before it seizes...

Meh, I'm gonna wait for NVIDIA to release an update.

It looks like my temperatures are all normal (this is with the game running in the background).

My computer meets all the min requirements, but I haven't even gotten to chargen yet. :/

It keeps crashing even when I am just trying to get the options menu to make sure the graphics weren't set too high!

Whats with the sudden FPS drops? Running on High with a GTX 770 and even while standing idle every 10 seconds or so the fps drops from 60 to 20-23 causing ugly stutter. Is this happening to everyone? Every problem i get on PC game gets me really paranoid that pc is failing. Dont have another $1500 lying around for new PC :/

Specs:

CPU: i5-4670

GPU: GTX 770 4GB

RAM: 8GB

PSU: 750 Watts

Micro stuttering all the time. I have some relatively old and pretty used harddrives. They tend to make noise when they're working hard. Every time there's a micro stutter I hear the harddrives make noise. My guess is that not enough things are being loaded into memory (Only at 5.9GB used in total) and the game is grabbing stuff directly from the harddrive. So, getting a solid state will likely fix the issue.

I'm running on 8GB ddr3 1600mhx RAM, FX-4170 @ stock, and HD 7870 @ stock. When there's no stuttering FPS is perfect, load times are decent. The stuttering seems to happen for about a half second once every 10-15 seconds or so. It's really not horrible and I can definitely (and will) play the game -- it's just insanely annoying.

Guys, please help me :( I am a PC noob... I was 30 minutes into the CC then the game crashed and I got this message:

DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed ... (followed by...) The application's device failed due to badly formed commands sent by the application. This is an design-time issue that should be investigated and fixed. NVIDIA GeForce 660 Driver 33465.

When I tried to play the game at launch it told me I could not play it and needed a new driver...?? So I googled NVIDIA driver and downloaded this automatic updater. I updated the latest driver, and then after 30 minutes this happened...

Was playing on all high (default) settings.

So the automatic updater only gave you version 334? 344 is the newer ones but you'll have to download them manually. But of course newer version might not help at all if it's a problem with something else.

That's the same error message I'm getting (only mine says 344 and not 334), and I also have a GTX 660.

I think we have to wait for an update from NVIDIA.

Terrible preformance here with an i7 930, 6GB RAM and a GTX 470.
