Personally, I dont know how good/bad things are, but from what I is written here (even from people just annoyed and not just "attacking" BioWare) there are some really concerning aspects to the fan base. I personally didnt try it out yet, so I cant say much myself, but you are just attacking people the same way some people here are attacking BioWare, which really gets me to discredit your opinion (which is a shame, you seemed constructive at first)

That said, change is always hard to deal with, specially when some of those, for whatever reason, really aligns with things that fit better for consoles. Thats why people pull out their pitchforks. I will try to have a feeling myself and then I will comment on this more precisely

*shrug*

Honestly when they resort to the standard "oh them bloody casuals with their consoles and them developers catering to consoles only" crap, I stop caring.

I am fine with people having issues with the control scheme, cause it is such a large departure for what they have always been doing, so that's peachy by me.

But hyperbole like it's broken, or its horrible, or the gem of how Bioware have yet again betrayed us PC gamers by catering to them dirty console casuals?

Yeah, not a care in the world in mocking them.

I have played ports, horrible ports in fact, but considering how ridiculously smoothly this runs on my old PC I am gonna call crap on that.

Oh well.

Hmm, interesting. It sounds to me very much like an MMO setup, and as someone who has played MMO's for years and always remaps keys first thing, I'll probably be fine with this. I have a gaming mouse with the 12 buttons on the thumb, so at least there's lots for me to play around with. Maybe try messing with your keybinds and remapping things until you find something you like? I'll try to remember to give my opinion on it once I play tomorrow, lol, if I'm not too sucked into the game ;) Tac cam and zooming does sound annoying, but maybe there is a way to edit game files to change that, as in past RPGs I've played? There's already a fix discovered for the cutscene framerates, so I imagine it's only a very short time before we see other 'fixes' like that out there, pre-patch. Or hopefully they'll make the changes you want in a patch soon! Fingers crossed so everyone can enjoy :)

As I said, I indeed am concerned about some of the things people are talking about the controls, but at the same time, I don't want to judge something I havent seen myself. But yes, I do agree with you that some people are just going full-hate on this. I'm still super excited about tomorrow. Can't really wait. Hope I can adapt as easily as you did.

Oh come on, PC players who played the game already know as well as I do that DA 3 PC is ported over from the console  version. For one thing why is there a controller setting in the option menu, never seen that in DA 1 & 2 PC.

Wait, what?

Uhh, I genuinely apologize because I might be misunderstanding you here, but would not be simply because the game is built to natively support controllers?

How does that prove, well, anything?

PC gamer since the mid 90's with my last console in the 8 bit era.

Absolutely loves the M+KB set up in this game.

Try harder.

you obviously own a console or two.

But I need to be clear though, there is every chance you might not like it at all anyway. And that is fine mate.

But it works, so I guess the thing here is if you can accept that a PC bases UI can be good and smooth and functional but adhere not at all to traditional CRPG control schemes.

But that is up to you I guess.

For me the tactical camera doesnt scroll out far enough. But thats just my personal opinion.

Ability Tooltips dont show any info on them unless your in the skill tree. Really annoying when your out adventuring and want that info quickly. (detailed tooltips mod please!)

When in tactical cam view, selecting a party member jumps the camera to them.........would LOVE it to be a toggle as i would rather it not jump.

If you are not in tactical mode, then you can't give orders to your teammates either. You must be in tactical mode to give orders, but in tactical mode you can't see much because the camera sucks.

These would be my main annoyances thus far.  I'd also like to point out that switching to tac cam changes your controls so that WASD move the camera instead of your active party member.  Having to use "move to" orders all the time is kinda awkward.  Also, if you accidentally switch to tac cam by scrolling out too far, the result is pretty jarring.

...uh, no.

That just means they built a PC game with the native ability to support controllers.

Oh my god, my life has been a lie!

No seriously? That's it? Wow. Like...wow.

You know, I would be sad.

But instead I'll laugh at how horribly predictable that was.

Or rather simply someone who has a personal opinion that runs contrary to your own.

But hey, if you thinking I work for EA allows you to feel like the world makes sense, you do what you need to do.

So this is what it has come down to? 'Accusing' people of owning consoles?

Hilariously ridiculous.

Following the DA:I boards has been fun. And another reason to refuse to call myself a gamer even though I've been playing games for 25 years. (and... I started on a PC. 25 years ago)

I now work for the evil empire that is EA.

From Malaysia.

Sigh, what's sad was how predictable that was.

I hate to say it, but I am really having problems too. Maybe it is just the beginning stage of getting used to a new game, but I am struggling just to get through the tutorial because of these problems (more so than usual). I do hope they patch some of these problems soon though (especially that hair, so much shine).
