Mages, duh. Been anti-Templars since the first game.

Sorry Rhys and Connor, but Fiona is a threat that needs to be removed. Her crimes now are passed the threshold.

Templars. Mages dug their own grave signing with Tevinter, enough of Fiona and Templar's quest is more interesting with the Fade part. Sorry, Dorian, but you'll have to wait till Skyhold.

Oh, and I can kill both leaders of that stupid war this way.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was an option which sort of brings both mages and templars together in peace (like Geth and Quarians). If that is not an option though i originally planned on going with the templars but i need to see how both sides are represented in the game first.

Fiona was the one that made the choice in the 1st place despite the disagreement the majority of the Mages being against her action.

I'll side with the Mages to save those who doesn't deserve to suffer for Fiona's actions but I promise nothing when the time arrives when...

I heard you can get both Mages and Templars but it is only during a later time of the game. However, that is just a rumor I heard

I will side with Mages and save as many of them as I can. Most Templars are better dead, and for sure I will help to make them become "better".

Do you remember when writers said we saw the worst of mages and templars in DA2? There was hope for a more nuanced view. Safety and peace versus freedom, the age old question. Who would have thought templars would become mindless cannon fodder, the new darkspawn?

Actually we should have seen it coming. Cerberus was indoctrinated in ME3. It's the same.

“I think a big part of Dragon Age II was letting the player see the people who thought that things were bad by these extremists. And now in Dragon Age: Inquisition we want to show the player the people who feel that they’re right. That they’re on the side of good, not from the side of, ‘I am an extremist who has this view that might be hard to understand,’ [but] more, ‘This is why my position is morally correct.’"

I'm really interested in the mage story line but the templar one has very little exposure to spoilers so I will probably go templar the first run and then do mages after since I pretty much know all the spoilers from them.

Plus my rogue is Pro-Templar. Second run is a mage - it will match up in RP.

I...honestly do not know. I first run is a Female Elf Warrior, so I would probably focus on Elves most of the time anyways.

Well isn't it enough you can influence/decide

Spoiler

at that point you can probably punish her for her mistakes without having the other Mages suffer for her actions.

I have a feeling that all this Fiona hate is over something she does in DAI that I just do not have enough knowledge of or context for yet.

Almost every run of my DAO/DA2 games, I've went a very pro-mage route. That won't change in DA:I.

Nope, the Fiona hate existed way before she was confirmed to be in the game. It's just that a decision she makes in-game is being used by the Fiona haters as more justification to hate her.

Ah.  Funny I always thought she was well liked.  Me I think she is a bit mis guided and may not be thinking things through and she DID hi jack the purpose of the last Enchanters College before the rebellion, but on the flip side I don't hate her and do like the character.  I just have to wait and see, I guess, what she does in Inquisition and how everythign plays out.

Ya I'll wait as well and see how Fiona will play out because I don't believe in condemning all because of the actions of a few. A lot of the good mages are on the Mage Rebel side and were only forced there because the entire Mage vs Templar war in the first place.

After all if they had not introduced Fiona in the books and waited to reveal her in DAI then things may have played out differently with these hate and stuff.

What are you talking about? Red Templars are not part of the Templars, two different factions.
