Templars are  kidnappers of innocent children. Now there is no controlling them. They have started a pogrom against the mages. Mages are defending themselves.

Well you can influence the punishment but what the choices we have I not certain yet since we have only been shown screen shots of that event.

Not sure. Was thinking Templars to go with my hardlining Inquisitor, but which choice fits is becoming less clear. I may choose the Mages, but only if I can imprison or banish Fiona too.

I have a feeling that all this Fiona hate is over something she does in DAI that I just do not have enough knowledge of or context for yet.  

And she was probably pushed into it by  unwaivering Templar zealots with no room for an understanding. After, all, their whole purpose for existence is to be kidnappers, jailers, drug addicts etc...without mages they have no purpose.

 

Anders, I executed in DAi and I'm pro mage... but Fiona?.. I have no clue why there are so many individuals that want her head.

Alistair and/or Anora will banish Fiona for what she did. You can influence the choice but what they are uncertain for now

 

While this may satisfy the Fiona haters so they can keep the Mages if they choose to side with Mages while punishing Fiona. I'm concerned about what the choice for this event maybe because I don't want end up having to punish all mages just because of Fiona.

Fiona, out of desperation, sold herself and her fellow Mages to Tevintor in order to survive after the explosion at the peace summit. Now the only way to save people like Connor, Rhys and Evangeline is to go to the Mage Side and kill their Tevintor owner named Alexius. If you side with Mages then events of the mission will be different where Fiona will take Lelianas place so you can avoid Leliana becoming tortured by Alexus.

I see. Yeah, OK, Tevinter is not exactly an ideal country since they use slaves and blood magic, but when you see Templars' getting away with the crap they do that (to me) is a million times worse.Its not rocket science to know that at some point Tevinter was going to get involved, just a matter of time and how.

 Alistair and/or Anora confronts Fiona in Skyhold about her mistakes

 

at that point you can probably punish her for her mistakes without having the other Mages suffer for her actions.

I will admit, at least for act 1, there seems to be a surprisingly high of major spoilers given the game is not even out yet.

A lot of people already have access to the full game through loop holes, being reviewers (the reviewers got a 2 week head start access to full game) and living in other countries.
