I am so excited. I feel like I've been waiting for this game forever, and in less than 20 minutes I'll be able to play it.

 

I'm getting emotional before the game even starts, jeez.

I've got an email today...today...at 8 pm that at my game shop their retailer screwed up and that they only got XBone and PS4 versions of DA:I and that i will not receive my copy tomorrow morning.

So, just some hints for people who are about to play:

 

1) When selecting your character's gender, tab between male and female a few times before selecting the one you want. This supposedly avoids a bug where your male is referred to as a female.

 

2) Ask Varric/Leiliana about Hawke/Warden as soon as possible to see if their information matches up to your imported world state.

 

3) For (somewhat spoilery) reasons, it may be best to use the English voice for human and elf Inquisitors and the US voice for dwarf and qunari inquisitors. Apparently there is a bug where the voices may switch if you use the non-default one for your race.

 

4) if you are on PC, disable any programme which may include an overlay ingame (e.g. Origin overlay, FRAPS, etc.) Otherwise, you may experience freezing and lagging. 

 

5) if you are on PC and having framerate issues, try disabling MSAA, as it apparently hogs a lot of FPS.

 

6) Save often.
