So...

Been loving the game so far, but there's an odd bug that keeps pulling me out of the experience. I'm playing a Male Qunari, but random NPC's are referring to me as "She" all the time.
It's also happened when talking to a companion. And at other times they say "he" instead of "she" so it's very odd.

Any ideas how I could fix this?

Thanks

Happened to me too, not sure the reason. I'm currently rerolling the char, to see if that fixes the problem. Lost a few hours of the prologue though :(

Did the re-roll work?

Yes, and I replicated the bug, so I think I know what may be causing it. When you click new game and the cards show up on the screen, there's a split second in which the race cards show as female before changing back to male (or it may be random, not sure). Whenever I tested it and this happened, and I rolled a character without switching back and forth between genders, the npcs would refer to me as a she or he depending the situation (particularly, companions would refer to me with the correct gender, while everyone else referred to me with the opposite gender). If I made sure to switch back and forth between genders before creating the character I wanted, the gender bender would not take place. So, hope this helps anyone having the same issue, and maybe BW to fix the bug :/

Whelp, sucks for me I guess.
I was some way into the game before I noticed it and even then it seemed random, so I thought it would was a one time issue. Gotta wait for a patch then :/

More like my character confuses everybody, with some NPC's calling me a "him" and some "her". And for some reason he/she never corrects anybody, so no-one will ever know my true gender!

Just like that Warden Mage in Last Flight. ;)

Happened to me as well. Since I put already so many hours into the game, I don't want to restart. I hope this is patchable. As long as the companions know my real gender I can put up with it for a day or two, for romance reasons, but it's extremely immersion breaking. Hope it'll get fixed ASAP.

Good news for those with the bug as it doesn't seem to affect proper romance dialogues as Cullen rejected my male human char so other than random comments you are still classed as male :) Still can't believe such an obvious bug survived in the final build! Perhaps it only happens to those who used vpns to Korea though that would still be odd.

Which platform is this bug occurring on? I'm gonna be playing it on PS4.

Thanks for letting people know. I had already put in quite a few hours and didn't want to start over. You the real MVP.

I have this bug as well on PC, but its also has my Qunari improperly flagged for equipment and I am able to equip Human items but not Qunari ones.  Those of you with this bug did you also import a world state from the Dragon Keep?  Didn't have time to do a re-roll, will have to experiment when home from work.

I'm getting this gender bug as well. I guess I wasn't careful about the cards thing but I thought that, you know, male would be male.

I've spent a fair bit of time on my character's face and really not looking to do that again. Bleh, I guess I will wait for a patch but this sucks because I was starting to get into this game.

Not sure if it's linked, but in addition to the gender issues, I'm also getting some weird camera issues in the cutscenes.  The camera is just "off" for certain scenes.  For example when you wake up in the room, and the camera should be close to the face, all I see is the mouth and torso...  When Solas grabs my arm when he first meets me, his hand is holding onto thin air a few inches away from my arm.  It happened for my male elf mage, but not my female elf rogue.... very strange.

Not sure how this made it out of QA, but perhaps the day 1 patch broke something... given the size of this thing, it's entirely possible.

Same issue here. The dialogue refers to my male Inquisitor as female.

Also, Cassandra's voice sometimes has a chorus effect on it, but only hers.

Me too...hate this gender bender issue. Plus Cassandra an Leiliana with "echo voices".
