It seems all one bug. After re-roll, double voice, gender issue, wrong class equipment just disapears. So... if possible, use re-roll.
Weird gender problem/bug in the game.

But I will not reroll. Not without face codes. My face is perfect; I will not change it.

When I created my character the cards started out on female. I switched to male and made my character and haven't experienced this bug.

Same. I wish there was a way to copy just a character's appearance from a save to a new save because as silly as it is I really don't feel like spending all the time on it again and I'm not sure I could duplicate him exactly even if I tried. I like him as is. Just not referred to as female and yes I get the echoey Cassandra and Leiliana sometimes too in cinema scenes.
At first I thought it was intentional and they were possessed or something. Guess not. ![]()

Same problem in 1st play. And in cutscene it show us bow, but character use staff (with empty inventory). In addition, character wear noble suit, wich he will equip after prologue =)) So it may add other bugs later, better re-roll, than face critical bug in the end of game =)

I noticed a bow in a scene at the beginning, too. But then in dialogue Cassadra referred directly to my staff, and I had a mage-specific reply.Same problem in 1st play. So it's not as simple as the game misidentifying the class and gender variables, because sometimes it's right.

Have people replicated Warlock's fix for this by shuffling the cards at character selection? I haven't had an opportunity to test it myself.

I have experienced this as well on PC (Human dual-weilding Rogue). Haven't had any other issues with gear or anything.
I thought it was weird when I was walking by people and they were saying "It's her...!" when that was wrong. When I was called "My Lady" I came here. C'mon, I don't even look female! ![]()

I really don't like this bug. I still haven't gotten the game yet (I live in Europe) but I'm already worrying. I was planing to play female the first time just to not have to risk this bug but now it seams to effect class also.
I have heard that switching gender and back again when creating your character can prevent the bug (and the same with Class, I guess?) so I'll test that.

Race too. Basically this glitch makes the game think your character is a female human rogue.
The class only effects wrong starting equipment though, but the gender and race are wrong all the way.

Just found out another Qunari-related bug (at least on PC). My Qunari is treated by Josephine as if she was human (asking abour my noble family and such). More nerve-wracking, however, is that I cannot equip the Qunari paints on the helmet slot - but I can equip normal head gear. Truly bad for immersion. ![]()

The flipping the cards back to female and then back again to male does seem to work, yes. I actually re-rolled yesterday pretty close to my character's original appearance so no issues now.
And I wouldn't worry about this bug too much. It happens almost immediately when you begin the game and it's really obvious so you'll know before you get too far in. If any of the cut scenes refer to you as female when you have a male character, if you have rogue equipment (long trenchcoat type outfit) when you're not a rogue or if Cassandra or Leiliana do any of their cinematic lines echoey (I suspect this is both the male and female variants of that dialog line being played at the same time) then re-roll because you have the bug. Otherwise you are fine.
In any case, I'd switch the female then back to male again on the character creation screen just in case. That seems to work or at least I had no issues on the second roll when doing that.

When you're at camp is everyone referred to as "SER" or do I also have this gender bug? lol

Don't mind me, I'm just single-handedly bringing Aerosmith back into popularity one bug report thread at a time!
Wow, this is a really offensive bug that I hope gets fixed soon. Misgendering somebody is not ok!!
Being offended about gender says a lot more about you than it does about the people who made the game.

The class affects a few objects in cutscenes (look at a stack of weapons, see a bow, pick it up, suddenly it's a staff), but the gender thing is a bigger deal.Race too. Basically this glitch makes the game think your character is a female human rogue.
The class only effects wrong starting equipment though, but the gender and race are wrong all the way.

*Points to earlier in the thread*
Good news for those with the bug as it doesn't seem to affect proper romance dialogues as Cullen rejected my male human char so other than random comments you are still classed as male
Still can't believe such an obvious bug survived in the final build! Perhaps it only happens to those who used vpns to Korea though that would still be odd.

I can also confirm re-rolling and switching the cards does indeed address the reference and the echo issues.

Just got turned down by Cassandra because of this bug because she thinks I am a woman. GG not going to spend hours restarting to get back to where I was.
