I can't believe this never got picked up at play test or QA or whatever they do?
I thought there was something amiss when I saw a bow instead of a staff too. Also when one of the characters spoke the same line in harmony sort of but with 'his' and 'her' at the end of the sentence. Anyway I'm quite a way on now - can't be harassed to reroll. Did think it funny though after walking out of my hut the crowds were referring to my character as female...must have left my make up on! ![]()

The only gender issue I'm having is that my jump sound is female. It sounds British female actually. I'm playing a Qunari 'North American' male.... so...

Encountered it, too. Re-Installing the game for the moment. If that does not help I leave the game be until patches arrive.
Urgh ...
Edit: Re-Intalled, Re-rolled, same thing happening. I sit this one out.

This is so stupid. Cassandra rejects me because she thinks I'm a woman, then Sera rejects me because I'm not actually a woman, though she too calls me a woman every time she gets a chance. I seriously do not understand how this got past QA, it really ruins on otherwise great experience.

I have this issue also. :| After waking up from closing the breach(not spoiler/30mins after starting the game), everyone was referring to me as she/her/lady. I'm thinking of recreating my character now.
Character Details:
-Human Male
-Rogue-Archer
-Standard Story/Did not use Keep/Import Saves/Etc
I also had the voice problem/duplicate voices from Cassandra and Leliana in the beginning of the game(interogation).
Btw, shouldn't this thread be in the Tech Support section?
Noob Question: What's re-rolling? Is it just a command or this meant recreating a new game?

Yes, it means starting from scratch again.
I have the same problem. At first I thought it was only the occasional bug, so now I'm 10 hours in and really don't want to reroll.
Started with a male Human Mage, no import.
Hope it will be patched soon.

I am experiencing this now as well. Perhaps it has to do with the male qunari. My first playthrough was a human female and I had no problems. I have started a new game with a Qunari male and have been referred to with "her" and "she" a few times.

Same here. 30 hours in, and now I finally figured out that it wasn't just a dialogue bug. Male, warrior, but some characters refer to me as "her" and Sara is opening up romance dialogues, that she well consider me, while Cassandra kinda shoves me off. That + voice change kinda threw me off. I really don't want to replay those 30h, half of them were quite tedious.

Same problem here, Male Human Mage referred to as she / her. How can this stuff get past QA? I hope they can fix this with a patch because I'm not starting from a scratch again.. 60 bucks well spent!

Good news for those with the bug as it doesn't seem to affect proper romance dialogues as Cullen rejected my male human char so other than random comments you are still classed as male
Still can't believe such an obvious bug survived in the final build! Perhaps it only happens to those who used vpns to Korea though that would still be odd.
This doesn't appear to be entirely true based on these videos:
BUG SPOILERS
Casandra (romances males only) and Sera (romances females only)

Happened just now to me as well. Will try to restart a New Game, making sure to switch between male/female when selecting a new character.
*EDIT:
I can confirm, that switching between male/female in character-creation-card-thingy fixes the problem... Now ahead to unskippable cutscenes and another hour of running around... ![]()

I created a Galka (oops a Qunari) mage and Cullen keeps hitting on me......I figured the "heart" options were just there to be friendly with your party until I was given the option " Are you seeing anyone" at which point I stopped flirting with the poor guy lol.

No news if people with saved games with this bug will ever be helped/fixed. Please, Bioware/EA/SheinhardtWigs, chime in here and let us know if this bug will ever be addressed. Calling it 'fixed' by re-rolling a new character and selecting the gender back and forth is not a solution for many people here on this forum (and an at least 14-page list on the ea answers forum). Please please please, let us know if that is going to be the only solution.

My Qunari Mage seems to be fixed......started dating Josephine, can still seem to woo Bull and Cullen but maybe Cullen is the gay option and Bull is the Qunari option regardless of gender? ![]()
