Ok this may not make any sense, because... it just doesn't.
So I installed ME2 and everything is fine, runs like a charm. I didn't have much room left on my dedicated "games" drive so I had to install ME2 on a different drive.
I decided to go ahead and clean up my "games" drive and one of the files I saw that I hadn't used in a while was the Sony "Launchpad". I checked to see what was in the folder... some Planetside stuff (I reinstalled not too long ago... drive isn't THAT old) and so forth.. just like it should be.
Only... what's this? A Mass Effect 2 icon.
The file is called "Statsdetails" and sure enough when I click it, it starts Mass Effect 2.
Again, this is on a completely different drive in a folder that has nothing to do with Mass Effect.
Any ideas?
Steam Version for what it's worth.
Strange ME2 File in Another Folder?!?

Mass Effect 2 isn't out yet, so you either piracted it or got an early copy.

Well lots of stores are breaking the street date, apparently.
But he says it's the Steam version.

I am preloading the steam version also, however you cannot initiate the game until the 26th.

right click the file and check it's properties..see what it points too.
if it's the steam version that doesn't really make any sense as steam stores all games under \\steamapps (except for save files of course)

Since it is a gamepad, perhaps it had custom settings for gamepads and thus it stuck its settings for the gamepad in the gamepad's folder? (similar to what Planetside likely did)

He did, and by he I don't mean "me". This was my roommate and I posted before about his habits and his using my account to tout them and had my post deleted. If you go back and look at my original Bioware forum account (same name) you'll see I have every single Bioware game registered properly (the ones you can) and that is something I am proud of.
I apologize for this. If I could keep him away from my computer without adding inconvenience for myself I'd have done so long ago. I am going to bite the bullet though as this was the last straw.
