I'm just in the hinterlands now and i haven't touched the main quest after the world opened.. there's so much to do and the world/regions are superb.

I literally can't run out of interesting things to do no matter how hard I try. I hate sidequesting in games, but I can't stop. hah.

The story is compelling-enough-ish so far, and combat is far less flashy (at least this early) than it seemed.

All in all, I'm having more fun than i ever did in da2. If it'll beat da:o in my bookswill depend on the story/characters. looking good so far.

I post this because you'll all know me as the guy who "whined" or expressed a lot of concerns. Those who see me that way can take this post as an indication of how good DA:I is so far. ;)

My only gripe is the lack of auto attack. having to hold it down is an unnecessary pain

Jesus christ. I love talking to your companions. You can learn so much!

After 7 hours of playtime there are two things I dont fancy

1 - The auto attacking, pain to hold down the mouse button or R.

2 - There are no "Walk button"

I also don't like how the story begins.. It kinda STARTS with an army. And suddenly, in days, everyone trying to help the inquisitionand we start with an army somehow (albeit a small one). Wish that started a little different.

What?

What?

please delete your quote. I didn't realize it is probably a spoiler. (although it is reference to right after the intro, so it's not REALLY a spoiler)

So after these 7-8 hours have you found all Companions?

What are your PC specs/settings?

How is it running?

There is definitely something wrong with this game on PC. The first time I created my male elven mage in the first scene where gender-specific dialogue occurs Leliana and Cassandra used both VO lines, for male and female, at the same time. And after that the game decided that my male elf was to be considered female by NPCs. And I just got my first crash after extended play. Display driver was reset. Not cool BioWare. I had hoped this game wasn't to be going a buggy clusterfuck like Skyrim.

Also, the lighting in exterior areas is terrible. My elf looks nothing like the CC in the gameworld.

i've also come by some really cool "dnamic" side events. (think guildwars 2)
they may be static, but they feel very very dynamic and it's very cool

I've got about the same spec, 40fps is perfectly playable. Should get better after a patch and the next driver update I expect.

+1 for the lack of auto attack. I just replayed both dragon age origins and 2 over 110 hours and not having such a basic feature is killing me. The only other major complains I have are the auto focus in tactical view and that the PC can't move on her own. You have to stand right next to an object to loot, examine, etc... instead of clicking on it and have your character walk up to it. Really annoying.

All in all, these are mostly things to get just used to I suppose. It's an incredible game otherwise.

You're not kidding BB.

I'm delighted that your concerns have been calmed by playing the game and thanks for posting that  :D .

I think this is the sort of user review that those who discount professional reviews will be pleased to read...

Precisely agree with all of this as well, but it is minor stuff.

You should imo do the first main quest. Because it will open other companion quicker.

My best friend and I have more or less been questing in the Hinterlands since we got the game working. That was at around 3PM UK time, it's now almost 2am. There is so much to this game, it's fantastic.

I dislike that I can't zoom out in tac cam like in origins.. the view it gives you isn't very good.

All my gripes are minor though. It is an AMAZING gameso far
