I've seen a few Let's Plays, all of the choices concerning being pro-mage always generate disapproval. Why don't you actually see the game before you start throwing words around?

The entire game isn't mages vs Templars. Even if you go pro-mage, I'm sure you'll have opportunity gain approval in other ways in order to romance her.
It might not be, the war is a key theme through the whole series, specially in DA2.
