Aren't they capped at 30 FPS in all Bioware games?  Or at least all recent ones, I think they were in ME3.

I don't think so, but it *has* been stated that they're capped at 30 for this game.  Didn't sound like there was a way around it.

From what I've heard it's just how the game is built.

No workaround, it's just how the game's engine works.

It's because without the lock they were having issues keeping the scenes synced up right. Aaryn says they are looking into possible fixes.

I think this is the case for more BW games. I know for a fact this is the case in ME3. Gameplay is 60 fps, but as soon as a cutscene kicks in it's back to 30

So it's a lip sync problem? I know other games use lip sync that is controlled by FPS, like Fallout 3.

Well 30fps is not that great, but I wouldn't call it stuttery.

Is it dropping below 30?

Mark Darrah did tweet this:

We lock framerate to 30 in cutscenes
We had issues with the scenes desyncing without the lock
Hoping to remove the restriction

honestly it is bad, im on ultra 70-80 fps butter smooth during normal gameplay. During cutscenes it stays at 30 fps but there is a lot of stutter even though it doesnt go lower than 30 fps.

30 FPS is fine, quit your whining.

30 FPS would be fine, but it doesn't stay at that, it keeps dipping for no visible reason. Even the initial cutscene of the inquisitor getting up does stutter like that. Gameplay itself is fine.

30 fps is fine when it doesnt lag massively gtfo. Its not whining if it makes the game unplayable. 30 fps is fine when it isnt buggy as hell. The cutscenes are basically slideshows for me. just hack hack hack hack

Ive tried enabling vsync and it doesnt help unfortunately.
