Why not use a local variable and load up the UI to set it when a player logs in? Or in single player at the beginning of the game. That works for every individual player character. See my previous post. ![]()

i think Ghost is at present simply attempting to get a chosen spellschool seamlessly; no extra dialogs etc.

Yea, the idea looks good but what I'm doing already is far more complicated than it should be... for what I want to do, which is just get the specialization school when a PC casts a spell.

Well, looks like I'm in a bind again. The solution works for character creation, but it doesn't seem to work properly if the character is created with a different class at level 1. If you then pick your specialization class after that, it always gets me 0 when I query for the local int. I tried to modify ig_chargen_school.xml, but it didn't help.

ig_chargen_school ought work near-exactly the same, G. don't forget scriptloadable
tho you might want to use a different callback script ( point: it could prob. be set up to use the same script)
if you want I'll check it,

Yea, I used scriptloadable. Was I right to assume that this is what I was missing? So chargen_school is for character creation and ig_chargen_school is post creation?

Great stuff. Yes, never forget scriptloadable=true. I've pulled my hair out a few times screaming why something didn't work, until i realized that i had forgot that.
And yeah, as i mentioned at the start, you might need separate XML for handling level up specialization school.
Anyway, looks like you are getting there. Definitely something i think you should share on vault once done.
