How do we benchmark this game and how demanding is it? I am looking at 2x 980s, I7 5820K, DDR4 RAM and 2x Samsung 840 Pros so I want to know how well this bench will push my system.

I have never benched a game before, that is why I ask. It's always been 3dmark/unigine and cinabench/prime95.

Create a text file named "user.cfg" in inquisition's main folder, the same where DragonAgeInquisition.exe resides.

Into the user.cfg file, put the following lines:

PerfOverlay.DrawFps 1
PerfOverlay.Enable 1

Next time you start the game, your FPS will be displayed in the upper right of your screen. Fiddle with graphic options until satisfied.

Thanks! I usually use Afterburner because of stability and am wondering if what you are describing can be used with Rival Turners HUD.

Also worth trying those in the console so you don't have to quit out and kill the .cfg to disable them again.

Are you saying there is a menu option for viewing fps? Any chance you can get it to display core clock and mem clock, shaders, voltage, power usage, GPU usage and temps? I know its a long shot but I figured i would ask anyways.

Not a menu option per se, but DrawFPS should be toggleable with the ingame console commands. I'm not aware of the engine being able to know such info of your vid card, something like EVGA Precision would likely be more accurate to monitor those.

Does using the console disable achievements?

ooh, not sure. I'd guess no, but sounds like a test case!

Do you have to enable the console? do we get to see what is typed on the console? If no to the first question and yes to the second I would assume that it does not disable achievements because it would indicate that players would be using it.

You don't have to enable the console. A console input line will appear at the top of your screen when you press the tilde ^ key. You can directly type the commands I listed there.
