Even though I plan to play Keeper to start, I will vary my class to fit my party when PUGing.

<puts on monocle> However, I suggest a modicum of etiquette, old chaps. If you join a lobby with a missing class, don't force the existing people to change, that would be most improper and dirty pool all 'round, wat wat! Be a good chum and change your class to fit the role that's currently vacant, wat? <takes off monocle and enjoys a cuppah>

One lobby that had no mages in it that I dropped into: I switched to Keeper, the lobby screen reloaded to show that we now had four of them!  Sometimes I wish I had a mic.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. I joined a match with all of us as tanks. I switched to keeper and other girl got archer. That was our best playthrough. I think it will even off more as people can try each class more. I know I was most excited to be a tank, so I tried that first. Good luck in your future games.

I managed to duo up to stage 3 with just two Keepers yesterday. After that an Archer and a tank joined. If they stick together and always put barrier on everyone (with the second evolution), they could kite almost everything to death.

Every game I see the archers seem to come in last. Which I am fine with. Just wonder why haha.

On the main menu multiplayer screen it should say beneath your character what button to push to do it.  On PS4 it's triangle.

 

Archers damage is pretty insane, especially with longshot but yeah most play like poo which I really don't get.

There doesn't seem to be a manual either.

On XB1 it is Y just about anywhere in multiplayer. 

 

There doesn't seem to be a manual either.

 

There is a manual listed under 'Extras' in the main menu (where you click Continue, Multiplayer, etc).

The situation that prompted this post was:

I create a lobby. As a keeper.
3 people join, one at a time.
all 3 are archers.
All 3 hit ready.
I refuse to hit ready, waiting for one to change class.
(My Mic was 10 feet away from me, so I couldn't speak. Yes, I'm lazy sometimes)
After a couple minutes of waiting I decide to ready up and show them how bad of an idea this is.
we fail before round 3.

I'd be more than happy to fill the missing role, but sometimes it IS someone else's responsibility.

I've actually noticed a shortage of Rogues so far in the games I've been in. Plenty of people playing Mage and Warrior. Though quite a few people who don't know how to use Barrier or (F) for the doors.

 

I still need to figure out which Warrior and Rogue to unlock, the basic ones don't interest me, but know too little about the locked ones to risk the materials at the moment. I have managed to unlock the Arcane Warrior though and its insane

Ironically the first match I won was me (keeper) and three archers. One guy was bad. Rest were okay. Still most fun I had was balanced party.

Unlocked the alchemist tonight, 2 thumbs up.  So much fun.
