So if you, like me, are just wasting time browsing the forums until the game becomes available for you then please help me out with naming my character.

I used some awesome links that people game me in a previous thread that gave the known elf words and what they mean and made a generator to put the prefixes and suffixes together. I got some cool combinations of names and meanings (some are silly) but I just wanted some help picking. If you like any of the ones below let me know.

Also my character is a female elf. Probably a rogue. Definitely has red hair.

And if you like any of these for your own character go ahead and steal them. The meanings are next to them but are rough translations.

Sule'anar—Unto Mystery

Sulensil---Unto Nature

Daelonna--- Ruins of Vengeance

Ala'sren---- Respected Dirt? or Respecting the land

Da'nehn---- Little Joy

Mis'anar---- Blade of Forgotten Mystery

Naelath----Love of Revenge

Ghilanris --- One creature

Val'da--- Long Little

Dinlathena---- Gift from Dead Loved One.

Asha'vineth---Woman of Protection or Safety

Vallaris--- Small Words

Nan'vel---Movement of Revenge

Dinbor ---- Death Bow

Renatisha---- Respected Peace

Since the late 70's on tabletop D and D I have used Mutare as my avatar name, for rogues, Tempest for a mage, Nebby for a support build.

Nice work! I personally like Asha'vineth its quite fitting due to us being the protector of Thedas. Though is sounds more like a title than a name.

Vallaris is also nice

Banori is pretty much my name for everything. Should be interesting with my Warden, Hawke and Inquisitor all named Banori  ;)

Vallaris is nice. I'm still trying to pick a name for my elf too. I figure I'll probably spend at least an hour on the character creator, so hopefully that buys me some extra time to brainstorm.

I like Naelath and Vallaris.

Just keep in mind that if you go by name meanings, it could have meaning for your character's characterization and past.

For instance, if one's parents named them "Love of Revenge", that would likely imply something about them...maybe they were the sole survivor of a raid on a clan by humans, and the new clan who found them named them Naelath in the hopes that, one day, she would rise to take her revenge against the humans? Which, of course, could have been either a driving or a stifling force for her.

Similarly, Vallaris (Small Words) could be an amusing quirk if your character is a chatterbox, and maybe she was teased about it when she was growing up.

I dunno, I think a lot about that sort of thing.

I usually play female but I used to play a male rogue for an NWN mod and his name was Tomar (Diaz). Tomar would be a decent elven name, I think, if someone wants to use it but I don't know what it means (haven't looked). I won't have a use for it now until like game 12.

Otherwise, I like Naelath.

HERE is the link for the information about the elven language. HERE is the link for the generator that I made. It's not top quality because I just used a generator site to make it but it might help you come up with ideas.  The prefix and suffixes meanings will be on either side with the name combined in the middle.

Thanks. I like Asha'vineth too but I agree that it totally sounds like a title. Plus, my name starts with Ash so I was concerned it would feel weird naming my character that.

So far my favorites are Asha'vineth, Vallaris, Naelath (although I might use that for my boy playthrough), and Ala'sren (which I'm pronouncing Ah-ll-oz-ren)
