I'm from Canada. Ordered mine from EB games and picked it up in store. It sucks that it was broken but the game is amazing so that helps

I am still waiting on mine probably won't be here today even though i pay another 15 flipin dollars for one day shipping or whatever it was It sucks that you guys have problem but i can't have this problem or i'll probably lose been having a bad time of late and haven't gotten any sleep due to being slightly paranoid of  having problems also in the us

Bioware touted a secret compartment.  Is that supposed to be the coin area beneath the diary?

I am freaking out about receiving mine now and I live in NZ, paid $332 for this and I live a 2 hour drive away from the nearest EB store so it is going to be a huge hassle sorting this out if the IE is delivered to me in such a poor condition.

I'm getting it delivered to my house. I think it may be prudent to ring them and make it quite clear that I wont be accepting it if there is anything broken/missing. They should be checking them before sending them out.

 

Edit: I just rang them and they are checking them all before sending them out. Yay!

I'm not sure what to do. I don't want to return mine to the store because I really want all the other items that are intact. It would be nice if they could eventually send out replacement pieces or offer some sort of slight compensation to those of us who did recieve damaged goods. I'm so conflicted.

Mine has broken pieces, too. Let me catalog them here:

 

The Good:

Box it came is in perfect shape, no damage, no dents, event the (rigid) plastic around the case was perfect. The chest itself looks fine (yes, the Inquisition symbol on the top is worn, appears to be "aged" on purpose. Plastic "banding" cheap and tacky.) Regular physical Deluxe Edition game/box in the molded plastic surrounding the outside of the chest.

 

Tarot Cards look good, no damage, not missing.

 

Quill and Ink pot are there, though it's not a real feather, nor is it actually usable to write with. Total prop. No ink, but you couldn't use it anyway, and can you imagine the mess that could have caused?

 

Inquisitor's Symbol intact (if cheap and plastic)

 

Castle Map Marker intact, and HEAVY. This will make a great paper weight.

 

Lock picks all there, but crappy quality.

 

Map there (edges unfinished)

 

Coins there (though they were everywhere in the case instead of being in their designated spots.)

 

The journal is pretty cool, though it's not real leather. It's leatherette on the outside, and feels like felt (not suede) on the inside. Smells astringent.

 

The Bad:

 

Owl map marker broken entirely off it's base.

 

Lion's spiked arch thing broken off completely right behind the ears, but it's not obvious that it's broken if you don't know what you're looking at.

 

Steele Series case has a dent in it, probably from the Owl, the broken part which wasn't in it's place.

 

Over all, shoddy quality on most everything. 3/10, would not buy again.

 

Oh, and as if that's not bad enough, the Collector's Edition Strategy Guide has a hole in it near the spine, on the front. That came from Amazon, and the box it came in was also unblemished.

Wow, can't believe how bad this is. Mine was fine except for the lion piece, that arch thing was detached and that bar piece the is supposed to go in his mouth isn't even in the box. That's my only issue, but yeah everything in there is exceedingly crappy quality, not at all worth the $$ they were asking. I should have known better.

One of the EB Games in my city (toronto) we're actively dissuading customers not to buy it as they had some extra. They had a display box out showing how crappy it was. The guy there told me that most of the customers who got the inquisitors edition came back with stories of broken and missing pieces.

That $$ and got such a crappy return for it. I don't know what we can do about it now though.

I think it goes without saying for those of you who haven't picked their copy up yet or in other territories where it isn't out yet - save your money. This seems to be a widespread issue, and it is pretty cheap quality-wise on top of it all anyhow.

I looked at a couple unboxing videos and it does look pretty cheap and low on quality (where is the silk interior for the chest, instead it looks like run of the mil plastic).  You'd think for the price they were charging, which was *much* more than average collectors edition on the market, they'd give people something of decent quality (here is cost $230, $120 more than the deluxe edition!).  It's like they had a decent idea in mind then just went meh and didn't bother in the end.  Whoever was in charge of this thing needs a slap across the head.  

 

Fingers crossed though that my copy, even if of lesser quality, at least arrives in one piece with everything there.  

Ahh well, I guess I should haven known better...lesson learned at least.

Yeah, that's what I'd recommend.

Judging by comments and videos it doesn't seem to be an isolated problem and the quality alone even in tact doesn't seem worth the price.  The most expensive collectors edition I've ever bought seems to be the worst.  I'd think about canceling mine but it has already been payed for and is in the middle of shipping, I'm just glad I decided not to get one for my mum as well and stuck to the deluxe edition for the gift.

which basically says that they do not ship the edition because the level of quality is below their standards and that they are now checking the editions for further problems.

 

If I hadn't bought the PC DE as well, I'd be super-pissed, so I'm just very disappointed, because the Uber Edition is obviously just cheap bag of plastic toys. For the first time, I

 

consider cancelling a Bioware SE...

Mine arrived, I've seen it traveled half the world (arrived via EMIRATES passing from the Arab Emirates before getting to Milan to GameStop and then shpped to Rome).

 

I've briefly checked it at work, and everything seems in place on the first quick view (I have yet to check removing the first layer with the steel case).

 

The emblem is cheap plastic, two statuettes were off their compartment (and yest they're heavy) and I have a small loose piece which I don't know where it belongs and have to check better later.

 

Will keep you posted as nothing seemed broken here (lucky me?)

I wanted to add to my previous post.

 

Yes there were loose items cause the trip wasn't easy for the box and yes it feels way cheaper than what we've paid for, but for me there wasn't anything broken.

 

Only one of the Markers, the lion holding the semicircle with the three spikes was in 3 separate pieces, which could be easily assembled.

 

As it didn't show any scratches of sort, I think it was intentionally left unassembled as I just inserted the stick in the lion's mouth and fixed both sides of the semicircle in it.

 

2 coins were loose and the lockpicking set looked really REALLY cheap. I expected something in some sort of metal, but we're getting painted plastic, a joke, something like the inquisition emblem, it's really a letdown, cheap plastic.

 

My major complain goes to the cloth map edges, a bit unrefined.

 

As for the Journal, it's not a one piece, but essentially it's a small blank notebook with an outer cover of faux leather, which in this chance I like, that makes it reusable, so I could buy blank journals that would fit and use it on a regular basis.

 

On a second thought I might have not spent all that money, as the intrinsic value of the chest, for me, is far less than 100€

It happened to a local store where I live, apparently it was that way when they recieved it but they checked which ones were broken and exchanged them for new ones!

What kind of store thinks its acceptable to sell in that condition?!

I received the collector's edition from GameStop, shipped to my house.  The Inquisitor's Symbol was broken in two, and cheap plastic.  Pieces were everyone, but mostly intact.  The lion piece was easily assembled.  The coins are very cheap looking/feeling.  The war pieces are actually nicely made, but everything else is much cheaper quality than I would have liked.

Wow this makes me really nervous.. I haven't received mine yet, does anyone know if the pre order items for the PC version are all there? Including the flames, armoured mount and inquisitor armour? I'm from Australia so it could just be an Aussie EB games thing.

Still installing the game from DVD, but my inquisitors edition did arrive intact and more or less with things in the right place. No breakages... Thankfully

Not sure it was worth the price I paid, but the cloth map and tarot cards were kind of cool.

Hey there. Just got mine and one of the lockpicks was broken, box was falling apart as was the inquisitor's badge. I want to replace or refund it, but does anyone know if I can keep the game itself? Been dying to play it.

The Inquisitor Edition is a bit of a disappointment. Most of the items are pretty cheap and ugly, some of the lockpicks are missing, and hell if I can find the hidden compartment that they're supposed to open. The box has plastic pieces falling off of it.

 

The map itself is nice, and the tarot cards are beautiful, but all in all, it's not what I was hoping it would be.

 

At least nothing seems to be missing from the game as far as codes are concerned (US player here, so I got it from Gamestop online).

Same story as most of you...

 

Pretty much everything loose and spread out in the box, broken "barbs" on the Inquisitors badge, hole in the red plastic lining ans so on...

 

I actually thought some items would be metal, or at least of higher quality, but this is by far the CE that I've felt most cheated on.

 

I hope I can get some form of compensation from Gamestop, not really pleased with forking over 220$US+ for this tupperware-party...

So most of you will already know this story. I am an avid collector of Special/Limited Collectors Editions. I was hoping this to be a flagship among some of my other iems. Much to my dismay, this was an entire let down on multiple terms. The chest was trashed, (falling apart, compartments out of shape, broken or missing pieces, dont even get me started on quality...etc), DLC can not be used and says it was already redeemed... HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?! Also my Collectors edition Strat Guide's DLC was entered but, nothing was downloaded, it's not in my library, related items, OR downloads history... Over all I paid over 200$ plus shipping for basically a huge let down. Biggest peeves were the fact that I cant even open the chest without it falling apart on me, I'ts lke they didnt even care about sending a complete product, I have to re-set everything anytime I open this darn thing. While the badge was intact, it's shoddiness shines through. 2 out of 4 map markers are all but demolished (The Owl & Lion markers are in multiple pieces) I am missing the Inkwell (Got the "Feather", but no inkwell), and can we talk about the "Secret Compartment" Since there is no secret compartment or a need for this "Lockpick set" I would have much rather gotten better quality out of the badge/map/markers.
 The card deck is intact, the metal case was dentend inward (and I dont know if it was supposed to come with a second disc or what, but also DLC cant be used from game) Coins & Journal were intact and in place.

Isn't it suppose to come with a deluxe copy?  

 

When i picked it up, I got a regular copy attached to the top and there is no deluxe code inside(not inside the content box either), was told too bad so sad at the local ebgames i pre-ordered it from, cuz they said i probably took the code off from inside the chest, pretty much was told a liar in my face when i showed them that it should had been packed with the deluxe edition.
