Does anyone know how we can turn off our mics in-game?  Or at least change it to push-to-talk instead of always on?  I don't mean muting other people, I just mean having a "push to talk" feature for myself so my poor party members don't have to listen to me talking to my roommates or eating or whatever else I'm doing.  I've checked all the menus and options and this doesn't seem to be included.

Not wanting to rage or anything, but this should be a pretty basic feature that was considered during multiplayer.  Why would you have mics automatically always on without providing any options to change it is beyond me.

If this isn't just an oversight please consider implementing this.  For the sake of everyone in MP who doesn't want to listen in on each other unless we actually have something to say.

I would be surprised if it wasn´t in the Options, as it was possible to do it in ME3MP.

Protip: Put some duct tape on the microphone.

nope there isn't a way in game to mute your own mic or a way to use push to talk, which is ridiculous. QA failed in a BIG way

Well since I almost won't use my mic I'd rather disable it under control panel > sound.

I was forced to listen to someone's heavy breathing and loud classical music last night during a match. Luckily, I don't have an issue with my own mic as it has a built-in mute feature so I can use that when I am not speaking.

You can probably do it with autohotkey, google shows some scripts for push to talk, like for instance :

http://www.autohotke...to-talk-script/

Something like this might work if DA:I doesn't interfere with the volumes (I don't have the game yet so I can't experiment) :

LWin::
SoundSet, 100, Microphone, Volume
;SoundBeep, 200, 50
KeyWait LWin
;SoundBeep, 400, 50
SoundSet, 0, Microphone, Volume
Return

Yeah, listening to some 10 year old ranting about their budding puberty was not what I ... expected for my first public match.  <sigh>

Why are you eating during damp?

Are you that legionaire (sp?) from last night that was always a room and a half behind the rest of us?

I could very well see this turning me off DAMP if it's not patched in.

I was about to have some games, but I'm gonna have to set it up so that DA:I isn't allowed to access my mic since I also tend to be talking on Skype at the same time that I'm playing games a lot.

This is now the subtle brag thread.

I just found a great deal on socks. Which is really nice because I also spent $600 on Gucci sneakers.

It's a big issue, I can mute my mic on my headset easy enough but that makes it rather difficult when I'm on a skype call while playing...

OK, since I'm hearing every little thing including white noise, how do I mute people?

Edit: V to open the score screen. The option is there.

Sorry, that was off-topic, wrong thread.  Yeah, I just turned it off in Control panel, too.

On PC the voice-chat is Origins built-in system that is used. You can change to push-to-talk via the options there.

I wish there was an option to disable it completely though. Or atleast give me a mute-all button in game.

Didn't see this the first time around, but self-mute was one of the first things I built into my AutoHotKey script... http://forum.bioware...s-w-autohotkey/

Really!? If so that is excellent news THAT NEEDS TO BE REFLECTED WITHIN THE GAME!
