I have looked and searched but I am unable to locate via game manual, official forums on what the proper sequence is to upgrade Bianca and my other equipment.

 

Please inform me where to go/the process on upgrading gear. Thank you.

I don't think it will show up in the modify menu if Varric has it equipped.

You have to go to blacksmith mate, I had an issue with this too, being that it doesnt even direct you over there.

 

If you are outside where Cass and Cullen are go towards the entrance of the chantry but take a right you'll see a stable and some black smiths. Cheers.

It does. Theres a quest that tells you to explore skyhold and points you to all the crafting and vending locations.

I can;t figure this out either, do I have to go somewhere with him in the party, have him unequip the weapon, then come back to haven, upgrade it, and have him equip it later, that seems completely asinine.

Nope. Just go to the blacksmith in Haven and you can do it there. Look on the map for the icon, it's a hammer and anvil I think.

I had the same problem to and just solved it. go to the blacksmith. go to the modify weapons or armor. in the upper right by ur characters name there should be two arrows poiint left and right. click those to and find varric.

I have Varric selected in the modify weapon screen and Bianca is nowhere to be found. Must be a bug.

 

Edit: It shows up once you unequip it. If it's not a bug, it's bad design.
