I have played 10 hours according to Origins (I used a VPN to unlock the game at 7 am pst monday morning).
I found the tactical camera was good for giving orders but it sure was annoying to use compared to origins. I found that because the camera did not scroll out far enough you could not get a nice overview of the battle. It was functional but it wasn't a pleasure to use and in nightmare difficulty it is mandatory to use it.
I played the prologue 4 times each with a different class and each with a different voice actor to get a feel for which class i wanted to play and which voice actor I wanted to be my character's voice. I found that the combat on nightmare was challenging but not punishing. If I lost I lost very little time so death felt like a learning experience not a smack down. This made the prologue interesting to play. The cutscene to get you weapon slides seemlessly into combat. After four complete run throughs i was not sick of it which is a good sign.
I was surprised just how large Haven was and thats not even a "real" zone. The hinterlands are breath taking and dense with things to do.
I am enjoying the story, watching the people's reaction to you change as your role becomes clear was very well writen.
So how do i express to anyone reading this who is wondering if they should buy the game? Let me put it this way, I just ordered a R9 290 video card with 4 gigs of ram just so I can crank up the settings to ultra. I wouldn't have made that investment is i wasn't enjoying the game so far. So assuming you like story driven RPGs i say go for it.
