You could at least go more into detail with your weird statement.

If my game is ANYTHING like these people posting are talking about, I will adopt the "Bethesda rule" for Bioware games.

The rule?

NEVER buy any game made by said dev in any other way than over a year after release in GOTY format with all the DLC for free, and when they have finally fixed the half million bugs they are going to fix for the game.

I was so stoked for this but yeah it seems like it really needs some patches and optimization still.

Also super disapointed with the PC controlls in general, especially after seeing Bioware talk up the mouse and keyboard controls leading up to release.  Feels like they mislead us a little bit.  The game feels very clunky.   Not realy sure why they changed the mouse and keyboard controls from the past 2 games.  They worked and felt a hell of a lot better than they do now.

It might feel better with a gamepad but it doesnt even seem to recognize my wired 360 controller.  Besides I bought the damn thing on PC to play it with a mouse and keyboard.

Sadly it's starting to look that way. Otoh, none of the major developers have been doing well lately; WoW expansion launch was a disaster, Assassin's Creed Unity was a fail, DAI is looking like a debacle. Not a good run for AAA releases. Far Cry seems to have launched okay so far, so that's some thing, I guess.

How about the shuffeling of release dates in the EU? Scandinavian countries are lookin at a launch date on the 21st (digital, PSN) when it's meant to be out on the 20th >_<. First world problems, I know, but it should be easily fixable!

The guy at the game store said this Tuesday is a big game release day.... Maybe we will hear more horror stories... but at least we won't be alone... hehe

Sheikah86, where'd you hear that? According to the clerk at my local gamestop, the date in Denmark hasn't changed.

Why would we seriously answer such a dumb question.

Most people are happily playing without issue. For those of us with hardware/software combinations that produce problems or complaints about optimization, we may have to wait a day or week for patches to get exactly the experience we want. How are all PC gamers not prepared for this situation by now?

The game went gold before release and if "Having some optimization problems and/or glitches" counts at failing at official release then no PC game has ever "Succeeded"

Funny to see other people having the same rule about Bethesda

I still hope Bioware reacts quickly and slaps a couple of fixes on the game before the weekend

Yeah, seems like many people haven't played on PC for the last 10 years. Just wait a few days.

Even if only 1% have issues, the forums will be flooded with bug reports and complaints. It's always like that.

Thing is, you need to ensure B4 installing the game that:

1. You have installed the latest graphic drivers for your video card

2. Meet the minimum hardware specs

3. Set the video resolution to that spec

4. Decrease from Ultra high settings if things start to stutter/slow down.

I expected Bioware to launch behind the scenes a utility to acquire the hardware specs and set them up automatically in the game. Otherwise, announce that the hardware does not meet minimum. This will avoid many a hue and cry.

On the other hand, combat control mechanics, TAC cam, walk/run toggle, auto attack, mouse control all seem to be a poor design decision or perhaps even rushed to meet the deadline.

I didn't have to do any of theses things to get it to run. I did have to uninstall all my extra controllers for mice, keyboards and gamepads and restart the game three times before it would work. Easy fix but no upfront documentation from Bioware.

I've done all those things, and I am getting the DirectX crash regularly. I have disabled background functions down to bare bones, and I am still getting the DirectX crash. Sometimes, I have to restart the game three or more times in order to get past the crash at one point, only to have it crash again about 15 or 20 minutes later at a different place. I'd like to know what is causing the DirectX crash.

I've gotten about 8 hours in on my xbox one, all played without a "day one patch," and have yet to have any real technical issues or glitches. The updated controls and UI took a while to get used to, but at this point I'm just about good with everything.

My experience has been a wonderful game. The only downfalls are that my deluxe edition extras aren't available. Which is lame, but it's not like I bought the game for them.

From my perspective, yes. A game that can't run at all on release day is doing it pretty bad.

I'm enjoying this game a lot so far. I initially had the DirectX crashes but after a restart and then turning up my fan, it's all been fine and smooth.

I only got to play for about two hours last night.  I had zero issues.  I am running a rig that is fairly dated but when it was new...over four years ago...it was fairly bleeding edge.  I have updated the GPUs and RAM since the original build and that so that I could run Skyrim with a crazy number of mods.

Again, no issues on my PC which definitely qualifies as a dinosaur, at this point.  But I am running the game at the default settings too, so definitely not on the highest available.

Man, and to think I'm going to pick the game up today, I hope these bugs aren't too common.

I think people are expecting games to meet as much success as a GTA V or a Call of Duty. But I'd like to remind everyone that all these games had bugs at their launch just like these games (and they still do today). Today we are able to patch games post launch, but a few years back you just had to deal with it.

So.....Deal with it!

if reminds me more of the way they went to mass effect 3. the only npcs i seem to be able to talk to are main npcs they talk so much and not enough varying choices. its a good game but not really a masterpiece of an rpg game like DA origins was that game was truly perfect in terms of choices you could make and dialogue options there were so many ways to play it and so many choices that would have different effects on story. lol i mean in inquisition out of every 100 npcs i see you can only talk to 1 it feels so lifeless. the main story is definately not immersive i dont really care about closing the portals and i wish the dialogue choices i could choose would reflect that.

There were plenty of NPC's you couldn't talk to in Origins. This game just has a lot more background npc's than Origins did and ofc you can't talk to them. I would think that would make a game appear to have more life, not less but i guess that's a matter of opinion.

But seriously who are so many people complaining that it's not as good as Origins and then listing things as cons for this game that also existed in Origins? Did you guys ever actually play Origins?
