It's bad. I am not a person who gives a crap about graphics but if it's bad enough that *I* notice, then it's BAD.

We plan to hopefully upgrade to the ps4 version in the morning which means buying a ps4 about a year earlier than we'd planned.

But I have no idea what deal we can cut with Gamestop to make this switch since the game was already opened.

In truth, I'm feeling stressed and very angry because I spent three years looking forward to this game. I assumed the graphics would be DA2 quality or slightly better. But they're so bad that I feel like I'm constantly squinting at my tv. I might've sprained my face just trying to make heads or tails of the textures.

At one point my inquisitor looks down at her hand and her fingers look like they're made of pixelated playdough. I was actually missing those scary crypt-keeper hands from DA2.

My stomach is churning. I'm pretty upset. This game cost *70* dollars. I'm tired. I'm headed to bed. I'll fix the immediate issue in the morning (which will be all of our Christmas money) but BioWare has lost a loyal fan today. (Two if you count my husband.)

 

Lol its safe to say im going into tomorrow with ZERO expectations, so that should help the game out.

 

I will NOT buy a PS4 just for this game though.  When I am bored with it or ready for something else there is no other game I would play.  Thats not to tell others what to do, I am speaking for myself and my taste in games not anybody else.

 

The trees look omg horrid in the vids and I can see where people are coming from for sure.  I am also a big believe if you are going to do something then do it right.  If you aren't then don't do it.  And it sucks because I know Bioware was trying to include everyone with adding n the last gen systems, but if this game is anything like I have in my head they should've not done it and did next gen only.

 

and like was stated in the thread...if you couldn't meet or exceed your previous games?  When people have other games like Skyrim and GTAV to look at and compare? What the heck were u doing?

I'm pretty sure that most of the pics you're posting are from pirated copies of the game...

I'm playing on a PS3 right now, and this is what it looks like for me. The game has not lagged yet, and textures have not taken a serious amount of time to render.

Fair enough if you legitly have the game but hate the graphics.

I stood a good 40 minutes outside in the almost freezing cold for my copy from gamestop only to get those graphics.  At this point, it would have felt better if my copy was a crap pirate copy.

I thought that was only the pc versions?

...I wonder. What kind of PS3 do you have? I'm almost starting to think maybe the disparity here is that people with older consoles are getting a much worse looking game. If you have a slim and JPshieux has an older version of a console, I'm really going to start to suspect that. If so, that's still bad because Bioware should have made sure that older consoles didn't have trouble.

I agree, if my game looked like that video, I would not be sitting here complaining. The picture I posted I took with my cell phone guys, that is what ALL of the characters look like, and the background characters sometimes their clothing textures don't even load.

And what model of which console do you own? The only way to test if my guess is right is to start figuring out how old each person's last gen console is. And by old I don't mean age, I mean the actual model.

I bought my PS3 slim in 2012.

I've got a Slim, about 4 years old, which I think is pretty average for a ps3. 

 

Slims are a new enough model to be safe. Then how the hell...? Okay, new question, on top of the install question.

 

QUESTION: Do you have the digital or hard copy. I know you have a hard copy, JP, but what about everyone else. Kaiser Shep, answer these questions. You're the one who has a copy as good as that video, and we need to figure out what makes your situation different.

I downloaded my copy. Don't know about all the downloads specifically. I got the Deluxe Edition so there were a few things, and when I fired the game up for the first time a patch downloaded as well.

I've noticed that games now and days come out and we pay $60 to pretty much beta test the game then a month later they fix it with patches and later find out theres content on the game we cant play until we pay another 30-60 dollars to get the complete game but they call it "DLC".
Anyway lets hope they do something about this because as is its pretty bad. Graphics are sh!t, frames skip, dialogue cuts out randomly and doesnt complete (noticed this when i put on subtitles, words on the screen show them talking but no audio) contrast is nuts (whites are really bright and blacks are impossibly dark with no middle ground). And to those rim job clowns who say people are whining about this, once they pay full price for a game that looks and feels as if its in post alpha pre beta they have that right just like you have to right to continue eating @ss, k? thnx

Wait... You installed a patch when you booted the game up? Could the update be at fault? Do a big favor and delete the install and play offline so the patch doesn't happen again and so you're not connected to the internet. Being online can cause problems and patches can cause problems, and you can check both for us.
