This is about the best I can pull out of the CC.

In all fairness the face simply gets too angular using lighter skintones though.

I should also point out that I'm hiding the fact that I can't do diddly squat with this brow arrangement without hiding them really well.

Screenshot_Win32_0012_Final.png

Same face lighter skintones, tattoo changed to a nice traditional woad tone.....just gets all sharp and wrong looking. Almost 100% a problem with the brows popping out and skewing the lines of the face. With the darker skin tone the brows blend down into everything and they don't break the visual line for the rest of the face.

I'd have to agree; there's quite a few women out there with the head shape(s) you criticize*, so it's hardly "wrong" per se :)

*) in fact I was watching news on TV with one eye while reading this, and spotted at least 1-2 like that.

OP hopefully you can get something that works for you, i feel yer pain when a CC doesnt work for me and there aint no mods to "tweak" it to something i can work with, by looks of the pics your posting though looks like your getting there so hopefully turns out good for you m8

I've been very happy with the CC for my lady Inquisitor, but I'm actually with you on the eyebrows--I wish there was a way to manipulate the shape without having to adjust the entire forehead/brow region.

(I'm extremely particular about eyebrows myself.)

I'm kind of in agreement with the OP here. Try and make a human female with a heart shaped face rather than a square jaw and it's pretty much impossible.

Example: http://img1.ndsstati...565a_large.jpeg

utterly impossible =(

For my female human and my male elf (current avatar) I kind of had to take myself out of my own pre-conceived notion of what "pretty" should look like.  I usually want my main girl to be "pretty" though I do make characters all the time in my "real" not gaming life for various reasons, so only a fraction *should* be what I consider pretty anyway, otherwise they would all have a "look" and end up being variations of the exact same face.  We all have different ideas of what is beautiful to be sure, and that is at it should be so "pretty" is something not everyone would agree on.  "Not hideous" is easier to agree on in general lol  While I don't agree with the aesthetic and art direction chosen for the new(ish) elves in Dragon Age for example, it isn't my aesthetic or design to choose, so I am working hard to appreciate the more praying-mantis-esque proportions we have to work with.  =)  I think my human female ended up fairly attractive for what she was, though she wouldn't have been my first choice in features, probably.  This is her with some unflattering lighting just for fairness.

Now the men: this is only to demonstrate it is what you do with the tools - You can make them "character actor"-ish  (best face for radio?) or more classically appealing to the masses...but as with anything, individual tastes are something you just can't change :)  We all like something different.  I personally like creating "characters" who all are a bit unique - and I attempt with every single character I create to have at least 2 flaws that deviate from the "norm" just to give them character, even the ones I try to make "pretty".

Spoiler

these men both started with very similar features for what its worth.

I'd have to say that this character creator is fairly good at what it does. Only all encompassing systems that include the body like Dragon's Dogma and White Knight Chronicles beat it.

i just want to make a female character with long strait hair and no parts of the head shaved.  the only way i can get a "normal" hair style is if i go short. otherwise i thought the character creator was fine for female.

This is quite a question though, whyt does bioware seem to avoid long hair styles like the dickens? Its not some impossible feat nowadays... you can tell me short hair is the only way we can have good cinematics.

So really, the OP just likes to create one character (bombshell sexpot with doll-like features, long dark hair, and big light eyes) and can't figure out how to do it in this CC.  It's not that you can't create an attractive female PC, it's that you can't create that one particular female PC that you've created in all of your other games.  I don't see how this falls on anyone but you.

The female that you did create is attractive, particularly the darker skinned version of her.  Go with her and expand your horizons!

She's really very beautiful!  So is the guy on the right in your hidden pics.  He looks like my current Hawke I'm running actually.

I've been much happier with the CC in this game (aside from the lack of hairstyles--13 bald hairdo's are not "options", especially when a lot of them are just male pattern baldness). But for the most part I can create lovely ladies and nice looking gents for once without a ton of mods.

But then, I just like aesthetically pleasing, so I don't need supermodel-looking PCs.  I don't find supermodel look attractive.  If OP does, more power to them, but I prefer someone who looks more realistic.  Like this lass.

Your girl is beautiful *and* realistic, which (to me) is a very good thing. I prefer mine realistic also.  :)   I admit, there is not be a "supermodel" setting in this game and if that is what you are going for, I am not sure that is possible: for those wishing for that, it would be really disappointing.

You are so correct about the hair though, its quite limiting and I do hope that gets added to later on for more variety.  *fingers crossed* anyway.  =)     The choice between shaved 1-9 and bald 1-3 doesn't feel much like a female choice in most instances (though my female elf sports one just spunkily!)

Yeah, this CC requires more skill and patience. It took me 3 days and many, many restarts to get my male Inquisitor close to what I wanted, and even then I wasn't satisfied. I am very specific and detail orientated.

However, my female Inquisitor took me probably less than an hour to make and I didn't feel the pressing need to restart to edit something. Here she is:

Thank you!  After I made her, and got in game, I was even more happy with her looks (the reverse is usually true as I obsess over little flaws), but this one actually looks like a friend of mine from certain angles so I connected with her very quickly, something that didn't become apparent till she was animated in game.  And no, it wasn't the look I was going for when I made her, it was just happy coincidence  :D

Velvet, your girl is beautiful, and would look like any lovely woman we would see passing us on the street today!  I love her!  She actually reminds me of another friend of mine.  Damn I seem to be surrounded by aesthetically pleasing friends.  I wish I was half as good looking!

I'm on my 19th character I just can't find a female one that makes me happy and delete it with in a couple of hours. 61 hours played 50 of it in character creator. The hairstyles and graphics they borrowed from Runescape or Dungeon Siege is the biggest problem.

I tend to obsess more over my male characters. Without mods I was never satisfied with the males I created in Origins or DA2 (though use of toolset and texture mods made me quite happy with some hunky dudes).  I find the 'whiskers' and beards options in DAI's CC particularly disappointing.  So i go with as 'cleanshaven' a look as I can on my males.  Normally I prefer the 'Teagan styled' whiskers but all the options in Inquisition look like my inquisitor smeared shoe polish on his face.  And the beards/mustaches...umm no, I leave that to Stroud.

Ranulf (my current Quizzie) is a rogue archer and I felt the tattoo really emphasized his preferred fighting style.  The only hairdo that looked right for him was the 'Elvis pompadour' look.  Which requires 'strong features' to carry it off appropriately.
