I cannot believe they spent so much time giving us a decent 'toon creater', then made the eyes and hair so bad.
Edit:
I just fired up ME3 and the eyes are horrendous in that game too. Are they using Stevie Wonder as 'Art director'?

Haha, I think the eyes look pretty good, though some other options like cat eyes would be really good. Guess we're going to be waiting for the modding community to catch up.
The hair yeah oh my gawd.
If you like females with big jaws and chins like Aveline you're in luck, otherwise It could take hours of work to figure out the right feminine facial proportions, and possibly an accidental discovery.
To be fair they should be commended from a feminist point of view for making it near impossible to make a perfect barbie like beauty, and for the extensive use of what could be perceived as "imperfections". The feminist community has really been at the gaming community and television etc about these unrealistic expectations that are placed on women, and about the stereotyping of women in video games (eg strippers, vacuous), and really DAI can't really be faulted for much in that area that I have seen. Uh well pretend Sera doesn't exist. Anyway, the most powerful and influential characters in the game eg Cassandra, Morrigan, Leliana are pretty much all women.
The female inquisitors are fantastic outside of the hair being abysmal and certain make-up settings being very...weird.
This is the best CC they've made really, just wish they'd spend more time making GOOD hair and FFS allowing us to cycle the lighting to get a good idea of what they'll look like in game.
Female Qunari are hard to do right by default though - their default face setups are kind of...erm, smushed.
There are very cute/beautiful lady quizzies.
I can't make one that's not an elf to save my life though.
It seems for me at least it's easier to make males I find attractive than females ![]()
has anyone yelled patriarchy yet?

This is the first Bioware game where making the females is harder than the males for me - the male options in general, including their hair, seem easier to settle on and create whereas between the blegh hair, make-up and some of the sliders for things like chin/cheeks, girls take more work.
Edit: Also would be nice to have had freaking face codes!

PATRIARCHY!!!
...wait, what?
PATRIARCHY!!!
...wait, what?
i knew it it was bound to happen.
Edit oh you were joking oops apologies. ![]()
OMG i can't even..
My chicks look cool as well.. mind you mt Dward has a Cassie Jones skull facepaint on.
For me it's the eyebrows that kill me. They are considerably less detailed than those of our party members. I want thicker, filled in, Cassandra/Leliana/Josie style eyebrows please. Not sparse unplucked hairs
(yes I realize I shouldn't be worried about un-tweazed brows in a medieval setting but if I cared about realism I'd keep a helmet toggled on at all times for fear of having an arrow in the face).
It is much harder to create an un-bland looking female. All of the lady Quizzie's I've seen bare a resemblance to my own. The character creator is simply too limited with the min/max of the sliders, not to mention the dissonance between the character creator lighting and the in-game stuff. :/

Sadface. >: She's too cutesy and doe-eyed.

Then I tried to make a grumpy human lady with shapely lips and while she looked okay here as soon as she got out of this lighting she went all JOAN RIVERS and looked like she was overly botoxed and the textures looked plastic-y.
But yeah, if you like square jaws it's super easy to make those. :>

its from this.

Su Li Pi.... I can't unsee that >< my eyes burn. Originally I wanted to tell the OP her male Inquisy definitely gets a lesbian approved sticker because hes hot. But, also I feel like the OP isn't judging the female cc by the same standards as the male cc. I agree the skull shape along the temples do seem odd with certain hairstyles. But its still possible to make "beautiful" females. I also agree it seems like its easier to get desired resulted from the male cc than female cc. Tbh I can't say anything about the topic that hasn't already been said. But I suppose we all have our opinions.
