No, it's real, he posted a vid of the character select screen with that on it. He hacked the game, unlocking her image on the select screen.ITSSEXYTIME wrote...

It's a fake.
I debunked the video last night.
First of all, Kasumi isn't desaturated when she's off in the background like all the other characters.
Secondly, the transition from "Selected" and "Unselected" is completely different from Zaeed's.
Thirdly, It's clearly a 2d concept image of Kasumi
Finally, there's no blue outline around Kasumi when selected like there is for Zaeed.
Oh, and let me just add that it is ****ING IMPOSSIBLE to "hack" the game files in this manner.

Video editing.
It's a static area of the screen, not exactly difficult to edit.

Ok first, this is left over data from an earlier build of the game, so of course it's not gonna work the same as the newer stuff. And how do you know it's impossible? Have you tried??ITSSEXYTIME wrote...

Even assuming there was leftover data, the party selection screen renders a 3d model and then applys the outline filter when selected. There is simply no way to have the game display a 2d image in such a manner through a "hack" and I highly doubt bioware had any such feature already there.
As for not being possible, I just understand the technical requirements for such a feat. If people could do this kind of hack we would have seen more than texture mods for ME1, or any other UE3 engine game for that matter.

Yeah but this isn't a hack with the person creating something from scratch, the data's already there, he's just unlocking it.ITSSEXYTIME wrote...

If he was unlocking the data then it would show up with a full 3d model like everything else. If Bioware was developing another DLC party member that had leftover files in the main game then they would have been developing it for a while and it just got cut before release. The amount of integration a party member has to have in the main story is significant, I'd expect them to be further along in developing the character than using concept art as a placeholder.
