I was running around Omega on Wednesday and I remember hearing the name Kasumi over the loud speaker that is usually spouting news and ads. This could be a lead if someone can find the sound file from Omega. I cannot recall anything more about it other than just the name kasumi.



This could be if she is a real character, dlc, then you would probably recruit her on omega

Kasumi is a Japanese woman's name. Naming anyone but Asiatic female human "Kasumi" would show just plain bad naming sense from the writers without extremely good backstory explanation. In other words, the chances are slim, indeed.

The picture isn't a fake. That is the actual "team member select" image of her that is in the base game.

Though when I bring up her info ingame it says she uses Heavy Pistols and SMG and her only ability is overload.

I hope she gets released soon, more team members means a more fun game.

There's room for her on the selection screen. Before downloading Zaeed there was a gap, so it stands to reason... I just hope she's better than Zaeed, I didn't much care for him.

Zaeed is a badass. He's the coolest bounty hunter.... well the second coolest... *holds Boba Fett toy in arms and sighs while petting it* It's okay... I meant nothing by it Boba.



Also, Kasumi, I hope that there will be no dead or alive references if so I'm going to rage.

Also I just heard that broadcast that has been mentioned. It was one of the random "news reports" while traveling around Illium, not from the news stations just one of the ambient ones and it referred to a human female calling herself "Kasumi" stealing something and its effects on the company's stock. I doubt they would have a random news broadcast about a completely different Kasumi so she is definitely going to be human it seems.

I was just overhearing that news now on Illium and, before helping Gianna Parasini, that news message didn't played once.. and as far as I've understood, it was about the smuggling mission of that tool that you do for Gianna Parasini which was undercover.. and in the news they refer at that human woman who let herself called Kasumi..

I'll wait to hear it again before to be 100% sure of what I've understood xD

Yes it speaks about an omni-gel prototype that was stolen and wanted to be presented at a tech expo, but a human undercover agent, which is only known as Kasumi, recovered that item and so on..



This remembers me a lot about Gianna Parasini's mission..

What I am hoping for is her having a pyjack for a pet and as a loyalty talent. Of course I will be satisfied with anything that adds to the game.

Her tag in the .ini:s is "Thief", in the same way Miranda is "Vixen" and Jacob "Leader".

That said, if she has a pyjack, I demand to be able to punch it.

She looks a bit more "cartoonesque" than the rest of the squad on the first screenie.
And Overload + Heavy Pistols + SMG? Sounds like a Miranda v2, but probably without the LI options.

The squad-mate pic looks like early art or a place-holder. Probably gives us a good idea of what she looks like, though. They clearly hadn't figured out all her abilities yet. I'm excited to see another bonus, power, however. If we're lucky, she'll come with her own recruitment and loyalty missions (instead of just one, like Zaeed).

My gut feeling after a quick visit to the youtubes is she's only a placeholder right now. It's obvious in the character selection screen, as what you're seeing is basic concept design (based on the Quarian model) and not her own fully rendered model. What you're seeing on youtube is also a placeholder, as her model is completely generic... face, armor, everything is generic female human. Her voice may also be a placeholder.



So although this is all very interesting from a "fly on the wall" standpoint and it lets us peak over their shoulder slightly at their working process, don't hold your breath that this is the final deliverable. It's only a work in progress, and it'll be ready when it's ready.
