Hey guys, so under the Bartrand option in the keep I only see two choices.

-Bartrand dies
-Bartrand lives but will never be the same

My question is what affect does having Anders in your party have on this outcome. I had Anders cure him but unfortunately that was not one of the options. Maybe I missed something in my other options I don't know but I just wanted to throw that out there.

I've never seen the "Anders cures Bartrand" scenario? Are you confusing him (Varric's brother) with Carver (Hawke's brother?)

Or is it one of those things where you only get the option for Anders to heal him if Anders is in your party during the Haunted mansion quest?

 

Either way, I'd just pick the "Bartrand lives" tile. Even if he's healed, I suppose it's reasonable to assume he'll never be the same!

Since Bartrand is still send to a sanatorium, I'm pretty certain Anders' "fix" is only temporary. Otherwise we'd have found out who he sold the Idol to rather quickly.

If you brought Anders along on the mission about Bartrand, Anders would try to alleviate the problem and Bartrand will regain some part of his mind back.

The tiles in the keep seem to be about did you kill Bartrand or had Ander do his thing and did not kill Bartrand.

Reading Shechinah's response above (and the fact that Anders says in that clip that the healing will not last), though, it seems it still fits the "was never the same" description. Nice to see another version of that quest's resolution anyway. Thanks again for that.

This sequence was so good, I was disappointed we weren't able to investigate red lyrium. Then they just had it appear out of nowhere as Meredith's sword, ruining her. They made her legitimate crazy instead of well meaning but paranoid.

Anders' healing helped, but he was still never the same.
