I am logged into Origin just fine, I have the overlay enabled and yet I am still unable to login to the server. The message I have at the bottom says: "Not connected to the Dragon Age Server. Connect to access multiplayer mode and the Dragon Age Keep website, to make decisions from Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II, and upload Dragon Age: Inquisition campaign progress."

I than click on the Log In button and it than I get popup saying: "Online Connection - You must be signed in to Origin to access online features. Please Go Online in the Origin window and try again." There is nothing in the overlay to try and connect and my status is set to Online on the friends list so I have no idea what this message is trying to have me do.

There is obviously nothing wrong with my connection. As I mentioned, I am logged into Origin just fine, there are no firewall permission problems and I can navigate anywhere I want in the overlays browser. Thus I am looking to see if others are having problems connecting.

I should mention I've restarted my machine several times, disabled my firewall, plugged directly into my Verizon router, reinstalled DAI once all ready and verified files 3 times at least.

I have the same problem. its a huge tread in the EA forums right now. I have been trying since yesterday 11pm (it is now 8pm the next day)

Basically you are likely running windows7 right? try reinstalling the origin client. then the message will read "The Dragon Age Server is Unavailible at this time. please try again later" over and over and over... this also means you can't upload your keep history and if you are as unlucky as me, you also cannot get your deluxe items. ><

I am now past being understanding and fast approaching seriously pissed off. As are a lot of other ppl.

Take a look here: http://answers.ea.co...p/DAInquisition

Do let us know if you find a solution tho..

I gave the reinstall of Origin a try and it worked like a charm. I honestly didn't thing to try that. Been a long night of problem solving, almost 8 hours now. )c:

It definitly seems like a problem with Origin and how its being detected as installed. Because the game obviously isn't picking up on it so it might just be better for them to have it look for the running process and verify it's legit that way.

@Kayden:

Oddly enough, the game appears to detect Origin all right, since if you aren't logged in, it tells you you need to log in to Origin. There must be another piece of code that interacts with Origin and fails after that check.

I'll try the re-install when I get home. And I feel like sitting on a fire until then.... :(

I tried everything, none of these solutions worked for me. I wanted to play so much but now I just give up. :(

I called the install into question because I just reloaded Windows maybe a month ago and freshly installed everything so I could make a new image backup, including Origin. I know it was installed correctly but when I started the reinstall, it wanted to go back to the C drive not to the alternate drive I originally installed it on, like it normally does with an update.

I'm not sure what the problem is, I only know the piece of the puzzle as I saw it fall into place for me. I've been trouble shooting an issue with the game not responding to any input when running a program for FPS overlay or taking screenshots on Surround, including FRAPS. Sadly after I got that one figured out for its cause, I had all ready been troubleshooting for several hours and trying to find an alternative to FRAPS when I posted this. My search is still ongoing but at least there's one problem solved.

I just wish I could help more with this problem but I wouldn't know where to begin.

I had the same issue, what solved it for me was the reinstall to "standard" reinstall location instead of where I actually wanted it.

i.e Origin installed at C:Program Files (x86)/Origin

I'm having the same problem on PS4. My internet is fine since I bought the game through the PSN store and I can play other multiplayer games.  Is there a real chance posting here will get us a fix? I've never posted on the forums before.

Aasimar

try the reinstall of origin on your desktop next if that doesn't work. when it didn't work for me it would take a second for it to come back after I told it to login and say it say couldn't connect.

Why do EA games require a second login anyway???? Steam, you login once, you're in. Origin, you login to origin, then you login to the game. It's stupid.

Possible Solution for the PC platform. If you see the msg  "Can't connect at this time..." and

you are running PEERBLOCK in the background, you must disable it.

Good luck

I'm having the same problem - and EA support doesn't seem to be much help (big surprise there, right?).  I have jumped through all the suggested hoops to fix this problem:  uninstalled and reinstalled both Origin and DA: I, ran both programs as an admin, repaired DA: I, tried a clean boot, ran a CC Cleaner, turned off all firewalls and anti-virus, created a new windows user, logged in under someone else's Origin account, gone into DA: I settings and unchecked the auto-login feature...  Nothing changes.

To confuse things even more, my wife's gaming computer sits right next to mine.  By all appearances, our computers run exactly the same - same programs, same firewalls, same anti-virus, same internet connection - but her DA: I logs in without a hitch.  Mine doesn't seem to recognize that I am, in fact, logged into Origin.

Here's an image of the dreaded login-error loop:

As far as I can tell, the only time you need to "log in" is when you.

1. start a new game

2. want to play MP.

Starting a new game requires a World State import. Multiplayer requires verification of your Account for $$$ purposes if you want Platinum.

At no other time do I log in to play single player DAI.

You do get the "sever" message if your Firewall interferes and have Origins in-game turned on.  That also happened to me.

Example:

I start Origins and get the "my games" menu.... nothing else. I then disconnect from the internet and start DAI from a shortcut.... this works. This means the only time you need an internet connection is Origins DRM verifying your game is activated.

FYI: I have everything turned off in Origins. No cloud storage, no Syncing..

I suggest you to post on the technical forum instead because a mod said so another topic that any technical issue shuld be addressed on the technical forum or on twitter.

Just so everyone knows, this bug still exists in vanilla installs of the game. Three months after release. No, EA does not care about you one single bit.

I am having a somewhat similar problem, I am trying to play on my ps4 but I can't log on to the da:I servers because origin seems to think my email is invalid. The same email that I use here. To make things worse, when I try putting one of my other email addresses in it says that I have entered a duplicate email. This is really annoying.
