Every time I try to open Dragon Age Inquisition a window with nothing in it comes up for a few seconds and then closes. There is no error message or indication that anything happened. If someone has a fix it would be greatly appreciated.

Try turning off your antivirus/firewall software, launch game, turn antivirus firewall back on

I've tried that, as well as restarting my computer multiple times and re-installing origin and the game a couple of times.

If you checkout this thread, we all seem to be having the same problem, and it's already got a Bioware responses, so might have better luck with an investigation:

Are you on a dual-core PC? I think that might be the issue, and it might mean we're never going to be able to play.

I also cannot run the game, though I'm getting just a black screen with mouse cursor after EA/Bioware logo and saving info.

Here it is told that this happens because the game cannot run on dual-core processor.

That's really dissapointing, because my Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (3.0 GHz) is really better than many of the quad cores. I imagined that if I have a bottleneck that prevents me from playing the game, it wouldn't be CPU for sure.

I think i am on the right track to solving my problem. I switched the main graphics processor in my Nvidia Control Panel to Integrated Graphics instead of the GeForce that i use for everything else. The game started working, only it runs poorly due to not using my GeForce.

The response on veryblackraven's thread doesn't look promising...

Hi guys,

Thank you all for the quick replies with your DxDiag reports.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like all of you are on dual core CPUs. Dragon Age: Inquisition requires a quad-core CPU.

If you ordered a digital copy of the game on Origin and you absolutely won't have a chance to play the game on a computer that meets the minimum requirements, you can request a refund (granted that you are eligible) here: http://help.ea.com/en/refund/

Cheers,

Nils

Looks like we might be all out of luck. It seems a bit potty, given there are many dualcore CPUs with more technical grunt than some quadcores.

But it looks like this isn't a "We're working on a patch!" issue, but a "Sorry...you're below the minimum spec,,,get a refund" issue.
