The PC control issues won't be a problem for me, cause I am hooking up an Xbox game pad to my lap top.  Another thread was whining about the maps being "too large", but Bioware didn't give us horses just for poops and giggles.  They also gave us fast travel.  Me personally?  The larger and more varied the world is, the better.  Also some people are not happy about an auto attack.  What is so fun about telling someone to attack and then just sitting back and watching them do it?  No auto-attack seems more engaging and immersive to me.  To each their own, I guess.

They meant there are no English subtitles in case of different default language. Let's say you have Portuguese version. You play it with English voice over and Portuguese subtitles. Can't change the text to English .

There are subtitles, i have spanish version, and there are english voiceovers and english subtitles, you just have to enable them in the menu.

Ah. The thread's still beautiful with comparisons.

Yes. They get it. There's some stuff that has problems. Gender/Race/Origin bug takes precedence. Take into account subtitles. And then allow better PC/button configuration. You can probably end up changing this later through editing the game documents if Bioware doesn't touch it.

The only legitimate complaint on the quality of the game to me so far is how the tactical camera seems tacked on and a bit meh. But I'd rather have it than not.

Ending this off, you can't make comparisons like Cars to Games. Games are about 50-70 dollars worth at launch,  are entertainment items, non-essential parts of your life, can't specifically cater to one person alone.

Cars can be customized to fit your liking as long as you have money, go for at the least a few thousands if used, if not higher, are crucial instruments to transport you from place to place and could very well translate to your well-being.

Comparing Televisions to a Game? Better but not really. Televisions are products capable of showing multiple channels and allows you to make use of a service (Dish/Streaming/Cable etc.). Due to the multiple purposes of a TV, it's ability to run, alongside the quality of the product, is important to ensure due to how much use it will receive.  There is no debate over a 'quality' of how well a  TV works.  If it runs at the specified setting it said on the box, it's working.

DA:I has only one purpose. It's a video game. You've gotten a video game. It functions, outside of minor problems emerging from origin recognizance bugs, the game is fully playable.

Quality also has two levels to consider to it. Subjective quality is a user's experience with the game. The interface, the subtitle size/range of options, the story, the plot elements, the graphic requirements, gameplay, customization. These you can derive from your time with the game, and different people will find different things appealing.

Then there's objective quality. What work was put into this game? Can you compare the experience of this game, with another and tell how much work this game has had on it? For example, DA2 was horrific in many aspects. Game-breaking glitches that could reduce your Hawke to a slug, imported choices not being recognized, reused.  If you wanted to add a subjective complaint that many had, the game design of reusing the same damn maps everywhere and illogical spawn placement helped butcher the game.

I know at the least DA:I is better than DA2. Far better. And that's all I hoped for going in.

I'm a little disappointed to hear so many complaints about it.  My 360 copy is on a UPS truck and bound for my apartment as we speak.  I'll get a chance to play it as soon as I get home from work today.  I'm hoping that it won't be as disappointing as everyone is saying.  I'm braced for it to be a little disappointing, but I'm holding out hope until I get my hands on it firsthand.

Personally they could taken da:O and make it with frostbite 3 and people would replayed it as much again.

then complaints about no new content, not enough to do and so no.

come to think about it, call of duty is done that way :)

big world, like that.

some story cool some sex, nice.

fight a few bad guys always good.

smoking weed, not in the game?

sex is but drugs isnt?

whats that about?

Given the fact that I've only played a few hours of this I may not be the best person to judge. I have had a great deal of fun though, starting from the extensive character creation to getting to haven after fighting enemies and exploring the area. Combat seems fairly intuitive and I haven't had any problems with it so far. I actually like it. I'm still struggling to comprehend the story (which is the biggest and only issue so far), but things turned around as soon as I talked to Solas and gained insight into his awesome personality. I love how BioWare does companions. Exploration seems really cool and I'm looking forward to exploring the rest of Ferelden/Orlais.

Maybe it's because I haven't experience any outstanding issues, but to me it seems that this is shaping up to be one of the most awesome gaming experiences of my gamimg career.

Oh and for those of you worried about text/subtitle options: if you play with a gamepad and press the "X" button subtitles will be displayed at the top of the screen. I'm sure there must be a key that does the same on keyboard+mouse.

When it comes to video game reviews and quotes, the majority of them are either missleading or paid off.

If you see anything similar to the following: "...fantastic", "Breath taking...", "...outstanding", the first thing you have to realize is that its a dishonest quote. Advertisers for movie trailers use the same tactic. Questions you should be asking are: What is fantastic? What is outstanding? What is breath taking? Since they used "...", the three dots, BioWare took small portions out of possible negative reviews. Its being dishonest,.

Second, 100% of the online and offline game publications are indirectly paid off. Game publishers get positive reviews in exchange for 'perks'. Some of those perks include: (1) exclusive access to the developers, (2) free and early access to the game, (3) inside information on future products, (4) free t-shirts and bling, and many other exclusives. BioWare does not have to directly pay for a positive review. Its all paid in perks.

I am going to wait out the hype for a few reasons: (1) BioWare will spend around two years dealing with game bugs, (2) price of "Dragon Age: Inquisition" will slowly drop down to earth, (3) player based YouTube videos will be available, and (4) the truth will seed through the hype.

"Dragon Age: Inquisition" looks fantastic. While I want to dig deep into the game, the hype surounding "Dragon Age: Inquisition" is unrealistic. I was one of the people who waited two to three years before buying "Dragon Age II".

You just have to wait out the hype.

I am waiting for the hangover.

Too bad tactical cam mode is completely broken.

Too bad that button mashing mode plays like a really bad MMO. Boring as frack.

Still Hyped, still dying to play the game n hell of a still excited to do so, i know i will love it, i know i will not be seen for months when i have it and i know, i just know lol.

Bugs happen, glitches happen, nothing is flawless, the game need time for patches to happen it is that simple, if you complain about something else that is to do with gameplay etc an is not a glitch or a bug then god knows where you have been the last few months and god knows why you bought the game to begin with

It can't live up to the hype of people who wanted a isometric pseudo-turn-based game that ignored the thousand of hours of available gameplay videos out there.

Also, some people seems incapable of learning new control setup and tuning their keybindings to suit themselves, so form them the control sucks. Once I fix the keybinding, everything works fine for me (except for my dying right mouse button mouse, not related to the game, I had that problem for 2-3 weeks now).

Every word of this.

@the bolded. This happens a lot these days. Take Shadow of Mordor, for instance. For some reason people were upset it turned out not to be a 'true RPG'. Anyone who had seen 5 minutes of gameplay could and should have known this not to the case.
Another recent example: in the scuttlebutt section of Mass Effect 3 there was a 'Mass Effect vs Destiny' topic. Asking if Destiny was competition for ME, if it's gonna be as good as ME and whatnot. Anyone with working eyes, an internet connection and 2 minutes of gameplay videos could, and should've known that they aren't even in the same ballpark. Space + guns does not equal a Mass Effect like game.

Liked the intro in shadows of mordor.

it did fall off a lot second act though. no replayability for me there.

I was able to play about three hours last night before I had to go to bed, and had zero bugs or glitches the entire time. My game also played entirely smoothly, despite my PC being closer to minimum specs than recommended.

Are the PC controls a little awkward? Yes. I keep trying to move with the mouse and accidentally auto-attacking (no big deal, I'll adapt), and the loot mechanic is a step in the wrong direction from DA2's easy one-button looting. I also feel like the hitbox to loot items or interact with certain objects is too small and finicky- I spent close to a minute last night trying to figure out how to go down a ladder because I apparently wasn't clicking on the circle from exactly the right angle.

But despite those things, I had a fantastic time. I enjoyed combat for the most part (combat is my least favorite part of any video game), I loved running around exploring, and I like the story and the characters. I'm looking forward to playing more tonight when I get back from work.

I feel like a lot of people are upset because they had built DAI up in their heads as the second coming of DAO, and it's not. Which is great, because for me, DAO was tedious and boring to play.

Well it's getting heated in here isn't it? As much as I am amused by it all, you guys should drop the name-calling if you want this thread to continue.

Expecting a game to work on day one isn't unrealistic.

Expecting it to be perfect, is. Name a single game released in the past five years that's been bug free.

I can name several at least that released with very few bugs on day one (or bugs that didn't really impact gameplay). In fact I remember Dark Souls 1 being relatively bug free asides from glitches which allowed you to rack up souls easily but that certainly wasn't a game breaker and people only found out about these type of glitches from the internet and they were quickly patched.

Other games include Dragon's Dogma, Deus Ex HR, Tomb Raider, Halo 4...the list goes on. These games probably had small bugs but none that led to people to going online making entire threads about how it made the games unplayable.

Your defence is what people often use for Bethesda games or another argument being that "the bigger the content, the more bugs" which is a bad excuse really. I've played several games with lots of content that released with fewer bugs including Bioware titles. Unlike Skyrim, Dragon Age: Origins was actually playable on release for example.

I don't know much about the problems Inquisition is experiencing but it seems playable too from the gameplay videos I've watched but if it has noticeable bugs (whether they be technical or graphical...) then it's expected that people are going to complain.

Oh video game forums, may your excitable overenthusiasm forever give way to jaded senses of dissapointment and betrayl upon a game's release. <3

Seriously though, all the problems being talked about have been fairly obvious in gameplay videos for ages. A lot of you even got to pre-play the game for six hours. Why are the game's problems suddenly a new thing, or did lots of people just go on blackout and not get the heads up?

This is EXACTLY how the DAO forums were on release (maybe even worse). Same goes with ME1 and ME2.

Point is, moment a game is released, the people with a bone to pick flock to the forums while the ones enjoying the game are busy playing (I'd be right now, if it wasn't for work).

It's the same reason that whenever a PC game is released, its tech forums get flooded with people with tech complaints, even if the vast majority of people have no problems whatsoever. It's the squeaky wheel principle. :)
