My hype died completely about month ago, what I read now in these threads is what I already noticed before, in streams and videos.

It is now on level with other average games out there, going to play it when it hits the bargain bin.

90% percent of gameplay elements I was excited about in DA games are gone or redone the oppsoite way. All there is left is the story, and the story alone is not all that importnat for me in computer games.

Mechanics > Gameplay > Story. First one is borked beyond any repair. Second one seems not any better now that I am reaeding about it. Story alone isn't worth to me more than 10$ and that is the price I am going to wait for.

Didn't enjoy the last one a lot so I'll wait and see on this one.  I won't play it now and ride the hype wagon but later and save some money playing a better patched game.

Because none of the reviewers, for some strange reason, never mentioned any of this, and gave the game top marks. That does tend to generate some hype.

This is why review and reviewers are crap and back door deals happen to lead them to help the game get more sales.  It happens..more than you think.  This is why I never listen to reviews.  There are some reviewers who don't do it, but most...especially big gaming sites do it like clockwork.  There is no integrity in most reviews anymore and you shouldn't listen to them.

Those people reviewing the PC version are just a bunch of sell outs.

No kidding, DA 2's mouse and keyboard interface is far better than the piece of crap in DA 3.

By the way, was the "Hype is real" thread also dumped in feedback forum?

Overall, I'm enjoying the game quite a bit. I feel that the dialogue is setup better than its predecessor. Combat, however, is not that involving, to say the least. This won't matter as much if you're focused mostly on the story and characters like I am, but it makes me wonder what multiplayer is like. I didn't really intend to try it out anytime soon, but I don't see any compelling reason to bother. Anyway, thus far the dialogue itself has me sufficiently entertained.

PC controls suck (mouse buttons need to be bindable, default controls are awkward, no auto attack outside tac cam, all of which should be fixable)

Normandy's resource scanner sucks (please return the original DA method of highlighting all lootable objects in large area using tab)

Looting sucks (why was DA2's mechanic axed? I dislike DA2, but the looting mechanics there were perfect)

With that said, I am enjoying the game.  Will take another few days to adjust controls to work for me, but even the default ones are (somewhat) workable.  I know that different people look for different things in their games.  DAI works for me.  If the annoyances listed above get patched, the game will move from good to excellent.  Not regretting purchasing it.

Anyone complaining about default controls needs to be smacked across the face.

It's literally as easy as going into settings and changing them to something you like. I don't know a PC gamer who doesn't do this with over 80% of his/her games, especially in genres like FPS where reaction-time is reaction sensitive. You're saying that in a game where the pace is measured, where you can - in fact - pause the game, that the fact you're not accustomed to the control setup (which you can customize) that the game is nigh-unplayable?

Get over yourselves.

Is all this complaining about issues coming from people with the PC version?  I'm playing the deluxe digital version on Xbox One, and the game is flawless so far, about ten hours in.  Seriously, I haven't seen a single hiccup.  What am I looking for?

So far, my expectations have been exceeded.  I'm absolutely loving this game.  It's been streamlined from Origins, but I knew that going in (I had the EA pass trial).  I've seen more narrative in the first few hours of Inquisition than Destiny had in its entire game.

There were reviews that mentioned it.

I myself posted a review of the german pc magazine gamestar in the review thread and translated all their main issues, which mainly boiled down to bad pc-controls and horrible UI. Of course then there were dozens of dozens of people, who allready KNEW that that magazine couldn't possibly know what their talking about and that their reviewers were just too stupid to play the game properly

Yeah, so far, most of the complaints seem to be coming from the PC crowd.

Makes me happy I'm just a peasant.

Anyway, I'm sorry the PC players are having a rough time.

Well I will find out for myself now. UPS just delivered it and I'm installing it now. I have a 360 so I know I won't get the great graphics I've seen but that's fine with me, graphics aren't that high on my list.

I had that one pesky d20 that I wish I could have patched, had to replace it instead. Ah, the good old days...

~10 hours in so far (PC).

The introduction felt very rushed. You pretty much get thrown into the cold water after an hour or so and many people already put tons of faith in you, which just seems..weird. Thankfully it's not as bad as in ME3, though.

KB&M controls are atrocious. Why do I have to keep pressing R for auto-attack ? Why can't I zoom out the tactical cam more? -it's pretty useless like this. Why can't I press one button to "loot all"? There's tons of stuff to loot and it's getting old fast. Why isn't there a button to highlight lootable things in the area? (the search button feels 1:1 copied from the amulet button in The Witcher2 -and it was already impractical in that game)

...and yet I am immensely enjoying the game so far. It's definitely an improvement over DA2. Verdict is still out if I'll end up liking it more than DA:O, though.

That's what it seems like though, cause from what I have read so far I've played DA:O like they want me to play DA:I. i.e. walking around in third person, combat in tactical view, walking to a loot chest instead of clicking on it and automatically walking towards is (this apparanltly is a huuuuge letdown for people: wtf)

Bioware lied to us as they said it was developed on PC.

Not sure how they can have the stomach to release for PC when it isnt made for it.

gameplay and visuals aside, how you interact with the world is a big thing as its what you do all the time......

Hate console design for PC its bad design and bad mechanics and bad gamedeveloping.

They had 4 years, kinda make me ask why none of them apperantly dont own a PC and plays the game.

The fact is, we gamers are some of the worst kinds of customers out there. Nobody has any idea how games are made, and yet we expect everything to be perfect right away, or GIVE ME MAH MONEY BACK.

I'm paying 70$ + sales tax on day of release, not one year from day of release.
So, yeah, I'm expecting the game to be polished and mostly bug free on release date, when I pay the full amount.
Otherwise, ask me 35$ today and 35$ in a year, when everything is done.

I don't mind a few imbalance bugs.  I don't mind a few hardware incompatibility here&there.  I do mind game freeze and weird controls on PC though.

Wow.. some of you are pretty nitpicky tbh

have to walk to loot/no auto loot

no auto attack

honetly this is no critique for me... i game since 1995 and have endured to many Controll desasters .. much MUCH worse than this..

I can live with this... very...very ...well

I discovered it was possible to do that last week in DA2, I never realize you could do it before that despite finishing that game 3 times.

For DAI, I just rebinded stuff to be closer to how I handle controls in most 3rd person RPGs I play and voilà.

I watched a guy playing it for a few hours last night (or this morning I should say), and it looked really fun.  Gameplay looked really smooth, and he seemed to be figuring out things pretty easily and finding a lot of cool things to do.  I am really looking forward to playing.  Mind you, he was on an Xbox One.

Seems that a lot of the issues seem to be coming from PC players, which is unfortunate, since they are the probably the most passionate about what makes a good game.
