Talked to 2 different EA support techs. I keep getting a "run-around"... keep getting asked the same questions repeatedly - even after I've told them all the troubleshooting I've done. A couple hours each session with NO ANSWERS. This is crazy. Can we AT LEAST hear something out of Bioware or EA regarding them KNOWING about the issue? And what about their plans to fix it?!?!? Been a full week since release (or very close to it), and I STILL HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO PLAY DA:I - AT ALL. Keeps freezing on the freaking main menu!

For me it freezes when I click on continue button if I start the game from my desktop shortcut instead of Origin. If I launch it directly from Origin it works fine. I think it's cloudsave problem in my case.

Probably not want you want to hear, but just ask for a refund. State you haven't played since the release tried every fix you can and are receiving no help whatsoever from support staff. Can always buy it again after/if they fix it. The 24 hour refund period is irrelevant a friend got one yesterday after owning it for 5 days, with a similar issue to you.

Have you all tried " set priority " to low and " set affinity " to 3 core, because i have and it didn't freeze on the main menu.

Try disabling sound card.
Very much a random thought but that's worked for me in other games.
Also check there's no factory oc on your 7870 as the game is very much having issues with gpu oc.
