I think Orlesians would speak normal French but I imagine the Fereldens would speak French with an English accent.

 

I studied French as an A-Level and I have a strong North Yorkshire accent (I probably sounded comical in class) so I would imagine Fereldens speak something similar to this.

John Cleese should voice all the Orlesians in English in all the language dubs.  I would die laughing.

 

Actually, maybe John Cleese should vo everything in the English version of the game....

I thought one of the worst offenders in Origins (besides Isolde of course) was Leliana. Her accent seemed to be heavy at some times and almost nonexistent at others. I thought it was awful. But people have told me the VA was actually a native French speaker!
I agree, just make everyone sound English...the accents frequently sound terrible, and obviously even getting native speakers is no remedy!

I had to be told she was supposed to have a french accent, and I'm french... So I didn't mind her. But she's not the only french actor providing a bad fake accent as Hubert in DA2 was also voiced by a french actor and sounded awful ( he was much better as Riordan). The worst offenders are those who think that french sound either like Maurice Chevalier or like a flamboyant swashbuckling pirate. Isolde was pretty grating, the dirtbag Orlesian husband in DA2 was a special kind of horrible.
