Hi guys.

I'm coming here to see if I'm going mad or did they really remove the ability to WALK when using keyboard and mouse. This is a huge thing for me in DA, and any RPG where there's tons of non-combat sections.

Has anyone figured out the key to walk, or if there's some config I have to edit. I can't play without this..

There is no walk option in the game keybinds.

Apparently you can walk if using a controller.

It's in the title, I said Mouse+Keyboard. I don't care about controller, nor will I be using one.

I play RPGs with M+K and I expected this to have a walk feature JUST LIKE the past two games did.

As of right now, the only way to walk in the PC version is to use a controller.

There appears to be no such command on mouse & keyboard for some weird reason.

I expect that as long as people don't send death threats like they did with Mass Effect, and with some both persistence and patience, Bioware will be fully willing to patch this in.

IF it ever happens, how long will that take though? It could be months before they even notice PC Gamers like walking in their game.....

Huge oversight IMO, they even announced companions walking with you as a feature for DA2. Clearly the team was aware of walking being a loved feature then.

The entire mouse and keyboard scheme for DA:I is absolutely horrible. They made the game for controller input and it shows in everything. I've played for 10 hours or so and I'm still not used to combat, keep breaking stealth constantly by accident, pause is not activated by space but by ctrl. Overall it's just AAAARRRRRRGGHHH!

*totally frustrated*

Edit: oh and i forgot...after cutscenes...the mouse sometimes stops working completely in menus which makes partyselection impossible.

Alright errrrone, just calm down. Despite the BSN tendency towards irrational rage, let's let cooler heads prevail on this one. The lack of a walk toggle should be very simple to implement and presumably, if we voice our concern in a calm, rational manner, the correction will be implemented.

Anyone know if perhaps a virtual controller/joystick software would work? Or a macro software?

It may sound silly to some but this is really a HUGE issue to me.

You know that you can just in the keybinding menu and change the what key active pause right?

The default control scheme for mouse and keyboard is just terrible, and as others have said, does not allow you to walk for no apparent reason. I tried fiddling with the keybinds, but I ended up caving and just switching to my xbox360 controller as it was just less frustrating.

I'm currently searching for macro software and virtual joysticks/controller software but haven't had much luck.

I just can't believe they left this out of the game on PC...

Over in the feedback sub-forum there's a request for a walk button. Please go and sign it to show bioware we want this feature.

I'm amazed how controller focused the game is. I usually never play anything but platformers with a controller but I think I'll plug mine in for this game. Seems entirely built for it.

Yeah. Hilariously my inquisitor has a habit of jumping up and down like an idiot whenever he spots an enemy because I'm trying to pause the game. I need to rebind the keys or get used to scrolling back on the mouse wheel.

I've also had trouble with the mouse cursor being unable to select dialog options in cutscenes, though I can still use the numbers to select my choice. But in doing so I'm not able to see the emotion icons associated with the particular dialog choices.

Yeah I'm really disappointed in the KB/M setup so far. I've only played for about an hour but my initial impression is that they just double-downed on the cosolitis. Even the tactical view is just terrible with kbm, when all they had to do for PC was copy DA:O's camera. You can't even zoom the damn thing, can't drag to select multiple party members, and there's no hotkey to select everyone that I can see either.

No auto-attack. I have to hold down R constantly to attack? Why?

Now I can't even RP-walk? They may patch this in but it seems like an oversight, and one that shouldn't have been made if they had PC controls in mind.

I might just use my gamepad but that's never been how I played Dragon Age before and that's not how I want to play Dragon Age now or in the future.

Anyone know ifs Macro Software could overcome this issue? I'm unfamiliar with Macros but will try anything to fix this.

It seems like PC controls in general are...very awkward, to say the least. Especially coming from DA:O and DAII. 5 Hours in and I'm still struggling with it.

18 hours into the game, and the control with M+K still feels very awkward. The Tactical Camera is horrible, even with changed Keybindings. And there is NO Walking, i looked 10 minutes in the options or so for it.

Took me a misclick to pause the game the first time. I didn't look at the keyboard layout prior to the first battles.
