Aye I don't know what happened to Bioware, was it the ME3 ending that made them rather disconnected from their fans? I still remember in DA:O I had actually had a dev help me understand the toolkit and brought up any issues I had with the technical team. That was the level of fan interaction that I enjoyed and respected in Bioware despite such interaction normally being reserved to indie developers. They were very transparent. Now I feel I can't trust them, and that pains me as I've followed them since Baldurs Gate.

How can you read this forum and wonder why they are disconnected from their fans? They produced a game that got 8-10s by almost every reviewing company, with over 100+ hours of gameplay, and their fans are acting like they just got robbed and raped. I understand being disappointed if you don't like the game, but can people please stop acting like they got objectively fucked over? You didn't. Massive amounts of people are still enjoying the game. Step out of this hatred bubble that is the BSN for a few seconds and breathe some fresh air.

Vocal customers I deal with every workday, gamers are not the only vocal bunch. In fact, any consumer who knows how to use the internet can be very vocal. So I don't see it as an excuse for Bioware to hide because of possible negativity.

I never said I didn't like the game as a whole, my very first post praised the game with a 8/10 rating, I can sing its praises but it would be a dis-service to Bioware if I parade around like a fanboy and not also voice my concerns and impressions in regards to Bioware's customer service, as well as my disappointment after Bioware's "for PC gamers" marketing campaign only to recieve a console port.

I just bought this today after seeing that the game was well reviewed by IGN and GS, but the moment I realized there was no walk key, I closed the game. This is honestly a massive game breaking issue for any intelligent person using a keyboard/mouse. How could you test this on a computer and actually leave it out of the game completely for PC. Sometimes I think these dev's are really sleeping on the job.

Unfortuantely I'm going to have to wait for them to fix this issue before I can continue playing. I'm geninuely suprised that they have not yet released a patch. How could they not expect us to request this? They apparently have no IDEA how PC gamers play video games, 2014.. still learning.

Agree that this should never have been left out on the PC. What's wrong with your product manager?

I was not talking about you in specific. Most of the people on this forum are not nearly as courteous as you when talking about the games faults. I just personally get annoyed with fans acting like every single bug/feature/detail they don't like being a slight against them, and a sign that Bioware is horrible, DA:I is horrible, and anyone who likes it is an idiot instead of maybe stepping back and thinking....there are certain things I dislike about this game...is it possible with the massive amount of professionals who reviewed the game positively, fans on other mediums on the internet praising it, and amount of content...maybe it is I who just dislikes this game, instead of the game being objectively horrible.

Why is the lack of a walk toggle game breaking ? I'm genuinely curious.

Wrote this before: It depends on the scene

When I stepped out of that hut after the prologue, crowd gathered to worship, all I wanted to do it WALK towards the chantry building. I couldn't. I run through there. Felt stupid.

It's not really game breaking for me, but it breaks immersion and immersion is important for me.

I mean... just why is there no such function available? I'd enjoy the game so much more!

For starters, I'd like to be able to take time and enjoy these, sometimes awesome environments and events. Or gently tilt the camera instead of making a sharp turn or stop completely because you looked as something for too long. Or maybe I'd like to slowly approach something without running into it. Are we that much in a hurry with these rifts? It's really an awesome cheap feature.

Why is the lack of a walk toggle game breaking ? I'm genuinely curious.

Having already finished my first playthrough, here's my experience without a walk button:

- Lack of immersion

As mentioned before, there are certain scenes in the game where without a walk button, immersion is lost, there's an entire story quest where it's essential as well while mingling with nobility, running around like a goof breaks the whole quest for me to the point I just rushed it.

- Inability to fine tune movements

I've lost track of the amount of times I've fallen off a ladder (also because the game doesn't allow you to click and move, you most position yourself within half a meter square of a ladder to climb down running using WSAD - making it frustrating), not to mention the cliffs and platform puzzles during exploration.

- Possible quest breaking

There's also a side quest to walk around a statue for a ritual, but on PC you must run around the statue and push yourself against the statue so you won't overshot with your movements. Granted, it is only one quest I found that this breaks, could be more, I only played through once.

- Inability to gain a sense of location

Due to running around everywhere, I ended up having to rely on the map and ingame custom marker to find out how to get from A to B, in other games if I'm lost, I spend a few minutes walking around, gaining a sense of my environment, where I am, where I can go, etc etc. Also, I'm a sucker for sight-seeing, and sometimes I just want to lose myself in the world, walking along absorbing the environment. I can't do that running around.

Thank you, I just hope Bioware reads it so they realise how important this feature is and patch it in for us.

Has Bioware even acknowleged this yet? I'm sure it isn't too hard to add this feature :P

They did mention its a "low cost fix" so I would assume they are at the very least - considering it. The walking already works with controllers so it's a very easy fix, and should be in the first patch.

If not then... guess I would have learnt my lesson; Never pre-order, never trust AAA marketing, even if your favorite AAA company is Bioware! I do need a good reason to stop pre-ordering from Bioware anyway.

And this is exactly what is sad. The console versions dont need this walking **** cause its possible there. PC players are losers once again. So just add this feature now plz? Nooooo we have to wait for weeks and weeks for patches to implement this....or maybe it never comes to pc? Who knows. Sad cause it's soo simple, isn't it?

The best/worst thing is that if you plug a controller to your PC, you are able to easily use the walk feature.

This is literally the only thing holding me back from playing the game as of now - the other issues I can deal with, but immersion breaking things like this bugs me out the most. Wish somebody would just come up with a way to trigger that animation since it's already in the game. It's saturday night, I have time over and I can't play this game, it sucks so much...

Well you can give in like alot of PC players have done, buy a controller, and if you don't like using controllers tough - because that's how the game is meant to be played!

Remember -> it was made "by PC gamers, for PC gamers!" So grab a controller already, and play it like a "PC gamer"!

Haha you haven't seen nothing yet, you have a whole main story questline awaiting you which will be hours of you running around like a goof in front of the entire Orlesian nobility! :D

I tried with xbox controller but you cant zoom out camera away from your character. It is fixed. And targeting is little strange also. Sometimes when you are focued on one target, camera goes down and view goes up to the sky. Like from mouse perspective :)

Should check out the 200+ page thread on the news section, folks have resorted to chasing devs on twitter for answers. Such post-release silence is shocking.
