We have worse problems than a walk toggle now I'm afraid =/

Well it's still annoying that it's absent, but you're correct that this new patch did cause another obscenely annoying issue for many PC players, shiny hair.

Never had a problem with it before, but now I do.

I just read a few pages in the Patch thread and can only agree with scootshoot there:

Based off what they just did with the graphics, I think we lucky they didn't touch the PC controls yet.

How did this get past QA? First PC controls and now this! Hell can it get any worse after waiting 3 weeks?

*sigh* Nevermind, I think I'm done

Is there a way for you to "unpatch" the game, so you can at least undo the damage done by this patch?

Ever since Bethesda broke VATS in Fallout 3 with a patch, I'm extremly paranoid about patching and don't allow applications like Steam or Origin to patch the game for me. But at least in those days, you could reinstall the game to get rid of a patch. Now with Origin, it'll probably download the patched version by default.

No, and attempts by players to delete the patch folder only broke savegames thus far. Hence why I'm done. I think I trusted Bioware too much this time around, my own fault really.

Stay offline, that's the only way. I hate Origin/Steam for the forced patches as well and no rollback option. It's just not consumer friendly at all unlike in the past. As for the graphics glitches - all your settings are fixed at low quality.

I'm also having this problem:

104jejt.png

It was there on release but the game still loads it quite fast (within seconds) so you won't notice it too much. Now I have to save and reload to fix it. So... shelving time I guess.

I'm more upset about how much this patch screwed up the game for PC players than the lack of a walk button.

Aye, like the Major Payne scene...

Fan: My PC controls! My PC controls!

Bioware: Want me to take your mind off PC controls? *breaks graphics*

Fan: My graphics! My graphics!

Bioware: Works everytime!

As the title states.

This is a huge deal for many PC gamers. I personally love to play games as immersively as possible, and running around like an idiot through casual non-combat situations is a big immersion breaker for me, and many others. I'm not sure why Bioware removed this feature, as it was in both previous games.

Please Bioware, patch this in! It's really unfair that console/controller users get to have this feature inherently and everyone always forgets about PC gamers when it comes to walking. We don't enjoy sprinting around the place anymore than a console user does.

Make sure to also vote in this bug thread after posting here:

*snip*

I'm sorry to hear that and I can understand your disappointment. The continued lack of a basic function like walking is annoying enough, but having your game broken by a patch you can't get rid of is just frustrating and infuriating.

Understandably so. But broken graphics don't make the lack of a walk toggle better... although you'll probably be glad about all the running now, so you don't see the low quality graphics too clearly.

Kudos to Conal though, he's listening and responding. At least that is something.

I never said it made up for it. I'm just saying that instead of this patch fixing some stuff, it completely messed up just about every PC gamers game.

There's already a thread with a "Me too" button here:

http://answers.ea.co...ight/true#M8258

Why do you say 'already' as if I just made this thread.

My thread was created at the same time as that one, and has many more replies and gets actual attention from Bioware developers.

Keeping this thread going is our best hope for getting a Walk Button.

And I agree completely. I just misunderstood you, I thought you meant all those new problems made the walking issue a second-rate issue, while I'd say, the list of problems just got longer.

This patch seems to be the complete opposite of a patch... I don't think there's even a word for something like that, at least I don't know an English one. An old teacher called such things a "Verschlimmbesserung" (can probably be translated as "disimprovement").

Most would call patches an 'upgrade' or something of the sort, what we got was almost a complete downgrade.

And still no walk button!

Not sure if anyone else has posted this here.

It's from awhile back but I haven't seen it.

Confirmation that a walk button is in the works: https://twitter.com/...250244476407808

I guess they're having issues with it somehow but at least we know it's coming down the line.

Nice, thanks for the news, looks like Frostbite 3 is more troublesome than I thought if they are having problems implementing a walk button with the PC controls

I have to wonder what kind of issues they're having though. It's in the game already.
Just implement a keybind for the walking locomotion speed.

I'm happy that they're aware of it, but I wish it was in this first patch. I REALLY hope it's in the second patch, and we don't have to wait another 3+ weeks for it.

Frostbite 3 is the issue I reckon based on what others have said in regards to BF4's launch problems as well.

I'm sure it'll be fine. ;)

Spoiler

Hopefully it's one of the improvements already lined up for patch 3. :D We should try to get a bioware employee in here.

Can't imagine what will happen if patch 3 launches without a walk button. PC controls are the priority fix they said... imagine if they miss the walk button (again)!!!! Hell my Qunari is already very late to the Orlesian party!
